וּבְנֵ֨י

and the sons

יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל

yiś·rā·’êl

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הַשִּׁירָ֤ה

haš·šî·rāh

הַזֹּאת֙

haz·zōṯ

､ לַֽיהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

to Yahweh ､

､ וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ

way·yō·mə·rū

and spoke ､

､ לֵאמֹ֑ר

lê·mōr;

אָשִׁ֤ירָה

’ā·šî·rāh

I will sing

､ לַֽיהוָה֙

Yah·weh

to Yahweh ､

כִּֽי־

kî-

גָאֹ֣ה

ḡā·’ōh

– גָּאָ֔ה

gā·’āh,

He has triumphed –

ס֥וּס

sūs

וְרֹכְב֖וֹ

wə·rō·ḵə·ḇōw

רָמָ֥ה

rā·māh

. בַיָּֽם׃

ḇay·yām.

into the sea .

עָזִּ֤י

‘āz·zî

[is] my strength

וְזִמְרָת֙

wə·zim·rāṯ

and song

､ יָ֔הּ

yāh,

YAH ､

וַֽיְהִי־

way·hî-

and He has become

לִ֖י

lî

my

– לִֽישׁוּעָ֑ה

lî·šū·‘āh;

זֶ֤ה

zeh

､ אֵלִי֙

’ê·lî

[is] my God ､

､ וְאַנְוֵ֔הוּ

wə·’an·wê·hū,

and I will praise Him ､

אֱלֹהֵ֥י

’ĕ·lō·hê

､ אָבִ֖י

’ā·ḇî

of My father ､

. וַאֲרֹמְמֶֽנְהוּ׃

wa·’ă·rō·mə·men·hū.

and I will exalt Him .

יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

אִ֣ישׁ

’îš

[is] a man

– מִלְחָמָ֑ה

mil·ḥā·māh;

of war –

יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

. שְׁמֽוֹ׃

šə·mōw.

[is] His name .

מַרְכְּבֹ֥ת

mar·kə·ḇōṯ

פַּרְעֹ֛ה

par·‘ōh

וְחֵיל֖וֹ

wə·ḥê·lōw

יָרָ֣ה

yā·rāh

– בַיָּ֑ם

ḇay·yām;

into the sea –

וּמִבְחַ֥ר

ū·miḇ·ḥar

שָֽׁלִשָׁ֖יו

šā·li·šāw

טֻבְּע֥וּ

ṭub·bə·‘ū

בְיַם־

ḇə·yam-

in the Sea

. סֽוּף׃

sūp̄.

תְּהֹמֹ֖ת

tə·hō·mōṯ

– יְכַסְיֻ֑מוּ

yə·ḵas·yu·mū;

have covered them –

יָרְד֥וּ

yā·rə·ḏū

בִמְצוֹלֹ֖ת

ḇim·ṣō·w·lōṯ

to the bottom

כְּמוֹ־

kə·mōw-

. אָֽבֶן׃

’ā·ḇen.

､ יְמִֽינְךָ֣

yə·mî·nə·ḵā

Your right hand ､

､ יְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

נֶאְדָּרִ֖י

ne’·dā·rî

has become glorious

. בַּכֹּ֑חַ

bak·kō·aḥ;

in power .

､ יְמִֽינְךָ֥

yə·mî·nə·ḵā

Your right hand ､

､ יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

תִּרְעַ֥ץ

tir·‘aṣ

has dashed in pieces

. אוֹיֵֽב׃

’ō·w·yêḇ.

the enemy .

וּבְרֹ֥ב

ū·ḇə·rōḇ

And in the greatness

גְּאוֹנְךָ֖

gə·’ō·wn·ḵā

of Your excellence

תַּהֲרֹ֣ס

ta·hă·rōs

You have overthrown

. קָמֶ֑יךָ

qā·me·ḵā;

those who rose against You .

תְּשַׁלַּח֙

tə·šal·laḥ

､ חֲרֹ֣נְךָ֔

ḥă·rō·nə·ḵā,

יֹאכְלֵ֖מוֹ

yō·ḵə·lê·mōw

it consumed them

. כַּקַּֽשׁ׃

kaq·qaš.

וּבְר֤וּחַ

ū·ḇə·rū·aḥ

And with the blast

אַפֶּ֙יךָ֙

’ap·pe·ḵā

of Your nostrils

נֶ֣עֶרְמוּ

ne·‘er·mū

were gathered together

– מַ֔יִם

ma·yim,

the waters –

נִצְּב֥וּ

niṣ·ṣə·ḇū

כְמוֹ־

ḵə·mōw-

נֵ֖ד

nêḏ

– נֹזְלִ֑ים

nō·zə·lîm;

the floods –

קָֽפְא֥וּ

qā·p̄ə·’ū

תְהֹמֹ֖ת

ṯə·hō·mōṯ

בְּלֶב־

bə·leḇ-

in the heart

. יָֽם׃

yām.

of the sea .

אָמַ֥ר

’ā·mar

､ אוֹיֵ֛ב

’ō·w·yêḇ

the enemy ､

､ אֶרְדֹּ֥ף

’er·dōp̄

I will pursue ､

､ אַשִּׂ֖יג

’aś·śîḡ

I will overtake ､

אֲחַלֵּ֣ק

’ă·ḥal·lêq

I will divide

– שָׁלָ֑ל

šā·lāl;

the spoil –

תִּמְלָאֵ֣מוֹ

tim·lā·’ê·mōw

shall be satisfied on them

. נַפְשִׁ֔י

nap̄·šî,

אָרִ֣יק

’ā·rîq

I will draw

– חַרְבִּ֔י

ḥar·bî,

my sword –

תּוֹרִישֵׁ֖מוֹ

tō·w·rî·šê·mōw

shall destroy them

. יָדִֽי׃

yā·ḏî.

My hand .

נָשַׁ֥פְתָּ

nā·šap̄·tā

– בְרוּחֲךָ֖

ḇə·rū·ḥă·ḵā

with Your wind –

כִּסָּ֣מוֹ

kis·sā·mōw

– יָ֑ם

yām;

the sea –

צָֽלֲלוּ֙

ṣā·lă·lū

כַּֽעוֹפֶ֔רֶת

ka·‘ō·w·p̄e·reṯ,

בְּמַ֖יִם

bə·ma·yim

in the waters

. אַדִּירִֽים׃

’ad·dî·rîm.

מִֽי־

mî-

כָמֹ֤כָה

ḵā·mō·ḵāh

בָּֽאֵלִם֙

bā·’ê·lim

؟ יְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

מִ֥י

mî

､ כָּמֹ֖כָה

kā·mō·ḵāh

[is] like You ､

נֶאְדָּ֣ר

ne’·dār

､ בַּקֹּ֑דֶשׁ

baq·qō·ḏeš;

in holiness ､

נוֹרָ֥א

nō·w·rā

､ תְהִלֹּ֖ת

ṯə·hil·lōṯ

in praises ､

עֹ֥שֵׂה

‘ō·śêh

؟ פֶֽלֶא׃

p̄e·le.

נָטִ֙יתָ֙

nā·ṭî·ṯā

You stretched out

– יְמִ֣ינְךָ֔

yə·mî·nə·ḵā,

Your right hand –

תִּבְלָעֵ֖מוֹ

tiḇ·lā·‘ê·mōw

. אָֽרֶץ׃

’ā·reṣ.

the earth .

נָחִ֥יתָ

nā·ḥî·ṯā

You have led forth

בְחַסְדְּךָ֖

ḇə·ḥas·də·ḵā

עַם־

‘am-

ז֣וּ

zū

– גָּאָ֑לְתָּ

gā·’ā·lə·tā;

You have redeemed –

נֵהַ֥לְתָּ

nê·hal·tā

You have guided [them]

בְעָזְּךָ֖

ḇə·‘āz·zə·ḵā

in Your strength

אֶל־

’el-

to

נְוֵ֥ה

nə·wêh

. קָדְשֶֽׁךָ׃

qāḏ·še·ḵā

שָֽׁמְע֥וּ

šā·mə·‘ū

Will hear

– עַמִּ֖ים

‘am·mîm

the people –

– יִרְגָּז֑וּן

yir·gā·zūn;

[and] be afraid –

חִ֣יל

ḥîl

אָחַ֔ז

’ā·ḥaz,

יֹשְׁבֵ֖י

yō·šə·ḇê

of the inhabitants

. פְּלָֽשֶׁת׃

pə·lā·šeṯ.

אָ֤ז

’āz

נִבְהֲלוּ֙

niḇ·hă·lū

will be dismayed

אַלּוּפֵ֣י

’al·lū·p̄ê

– אֱד֔וֹם

’ĕ·ḏō·wm,

of Edom –

אֵילֵ֣י

’ê·lê

מוֹאָ֔ב

mō·w·’āḇ,

יֹֽאחֲזֵ֖מוֹ

yō·ḥă·zê·mōw

will take hold of them

– רָ֑עַד

rā·‘aḏ;

. נָמֹ֕גוּ

nā·mō·ḡū

will melt away .

כֹּ֖ל

kōl

יֹשְׁבֵ֥י

yō·šə·ḇê

the inhabitants

. כְנָֽעַן׃

ḵə·nā·‘an.

תִּפֹּ֨ל

tip·pōl

Will fall

עֲלֵיהֶ֤ם

‘ă·lê·hem

אֵימָ֙תָה֙

’ê·mā·ṯāh

. וָפַ֔חַד

wā·p̄a·ḥaḏ,

and dread .

בִּגְדֹ֥ל

biḡ·ḏōl

By the greatness

זְרוֹעֲךָ֖

zə·rō·w·‘ă·ḵā

יִדְּמ֣וּ

yid·də·mū

they will be [as] still

– כָּאָ֑בֶן

kā·’ā·ḇen;

as a stone –

עַד־

‘aḏ-

יַעֲבֹ֤ר

ya·‘ă·ḇōr

עַמְּךָ֙

‘am·mə·ḵā

– יְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

עַֽד־

‘aḏ-

יַעֲבֹ֖ר

ya·‘ă·ḇōr

עַם־

‘am-

ז֥וּ

zū

. קָנִֽיתָ׃

qā·nî·ṯā.

You have purchased .

､ תְּבִאֵ֗מוֹ

tə·ḇi·’ê·mōw,

You will bring them in ､

וְתִטָּעֵ֙מוֹ֙

wə·ṯiṭ·ṭā·‘ê·mōw

בְּהַ֣ר

bə·har

in the mountain

､ נַחֲלָֽתְךָ֔

na·ḥă·lā·ṯə·ḵā,

of Your inheritance ､

מָכ֧וֹן

mā·ḵō·wn

[In] the place

､ לְשִׁבְתְּךָ֛

lə·šiḇ·tə·ḵā

for Your own dwelling ､

פָּעַ֖לְתָּ

pā·‘al·tā

[which] You have made

､ יְהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

､ מִקְּדָ֕שׁ

miq·qə·ḏāš

the sanctuary ､

､ אֲדֹנָ֖י

’ă·ḏō·nāy

כּוֹנְנ֥וּ

kō·wn·nū

[which] have established

. יָדֶֽיךָ׃

yā·ḏe·ḵā.

יְהוָ֥ה ׀

Yah·weh

יִמְלֹ֖ךְ

yim·lōḵ

לְעֹלָ֥ם

lə·‘ō·lām

. וָעֶֽד׃

wā·‘eḏ.

and ever .

כִּ֣י

kî

בָא֩

ḇā

ס֨וּס

sūs

פַּרְעֹ֜ה

par·‘ōh

בְּרִכְבּ֤וֹ

bə·riḵ·bōw

with his chariots

וּבְפָרָשָׁיו֙

ū·ḇə·p̄ā·rā·šāw

and his horsemen

､ בַּיָּ֔ם

bay·yām,

into the sea ､

וַיָּ֧שֶׁב

way·yā·šeḇ

and brought back

יְהוָ֛ה

Yah·weh

עֲלֵהֶ֖ם

‘ă·lê·hem

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

מֵ֣י

mê

. הַיָּ֑ם

hay·yām;

of the sea .

וּבְנֵ֧י

ū·ḇə·nê

But the sons

יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל

yiś·rā·’êl

הָלְכ֥וּ

hā·lə·ḵū

בַיַּבָּשָׁ֖ה

ḇay·yab·bā·šāh

בְּת֥וֹךְ

bə·ṯō·wḵ

in the midst

. הַיָּֽם׃

hay·yām.

of the sea .

wat·tiq·qaḥ

And took

מִרְיָ֨ם

mir·yām

הַנְּבִיאָ֜ה

han·nə·ḇî·’āh

אֲח֧וֹת

’ă·ḥō·wṯ

､ אַהֲרֹ֛ן

’a·hă·rōn

of Aaron ､

אֶת־

’eṯ-

the

הַתֹּ֖ף

hat·tōp̄

– בְּיָדָ֑הּ

bə·yā·ḏāh;

in her hand –

וַתֵּצֶ֤אןָ

wat·tê·ṣe·nā

כָֽל־

ḵāl

הַנָּשִׁים֙

han·nā·šîm

אַחֲרֶ֔יהָ

’a·ḥă·re·hā,

בְּתֻפִּ֖ים

bə·ṯup·pîm

. וּבִמְחֹלֹֽת׃

ū·ḇim·ḥō·lōṯ.

and with dances .

וַתַּ֥עַן

wat·ta·‘an

לָהֶ֖ם

lā·hem

､ מִרְיָ֑ם

mir·yām;

שִׁ֤ירוּ

šî·rū

､ לַֽיהוָה֙

Yah·weh

to Yahweh ､

כִּֽי־

kî-

גָאֹ֣ה

ḡā·’ōh

– גָּאָ֔ה

gā·’āh,

He has triumphed –

sūs

וְרֹכְב֖וֹ

wə·rō·ḵə·ḇōw

רָמָ֥ה

rā·māh

. בַיָּֽם׃

ḇay·yām.

into the sea .

וַיַּסַּ֨ע

מֹשֶׁ֤ה

אֶת־

’eṯ-

יִשְׂרָאֵל֙

מִיַּם־

mî·yam-

､ ס֔וּף

sūp̄,

Red ､

וַיֵּצְא֖וּ

way·yê·ṣə·’ū

then they went out

אֶל־

’el-

מִדְבַּר־

miḏ·bar-

– שׁ֑וּר

šūr;

of Shur –

וַיֵּלְכ֧וּ

way·yê·lə·ḵū

שְׁלֹֽשֶׁת־

šə·lō·šeṯ-

יָמִ֛ים

yā·mîm

､ בַּמִּדְבָּ֖ר

bam·miḏ·bār

in the wilderness ､

וְלֹא־

wə·lō-

and no

מָ֥צְאוּ

mā·ṣə·’ū

. מָֽיִם׃

mā·yim.

וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ

way·yā·ḇō·’ū

And when they came

､ מָרָ֔תָה

mā·rā·ṯāh,

to Marah ､

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

and not

יָֽכְל֗וּ

yā·ḵə·lū,

לִשְׁתֹּ֥ת

liš·tōṯ

מַ֙יִם֙

ma·yim

､ מִמָּרָ֔ה

mim·mā·rāh,

of Marah ､

כִּ֥י

kî

מָרִ֖ים

mā·rîm

. הֵ֑ם

hêm;

עַל־

‘al-

כֵּ֥ן

kên

קָרָֽא־

qā·rā-

שְׁמָ֖הּ

šə·māh

the name of it

. מָרָֽה׃

mā·rāh.

וַיִּלֹּ֧נוּ

way·yil·lō·nū

הָעָ֛ם

hā·‘ām

עַל־

‘al-

､ מֹשֶׁ֥ה

mō·šeh

､ לֵּאמֹ֖ר

lê·mōr

מַה־

mah-

؟ נִּשְׁתֶּֽה׃

niš·teh.

shall we drink ؟

וַיִּצְעַ֣ק

way·yiṣ·‘aq

so he cried out

אֶל־

’el-

to

– יְהוָ֗ה

Yah·weh

וַיּוֹרֵ֤הוּ

way·yō·w·rê·hū

יְהוָה֙

Yah·weh

､ עֵ֔ץ

‘êṣ,

a tree ､

וַיַּשְׁלֵךְ֙

way·yaš·lêḵ

and when he cast [it]

אֶל־

’el-

､ הַמַּ֔יִם

ham·ma·yim,

the waters ､

וַֽיִּמְתְּק֖וּ

way·yim·tə·qū

and were made sweet

. הַמָּ֑יִם

ham·mā·yim;

the waters .

שָׁ֣ם

šām

שָׂ֥ם

śām

ל֛וֹ

lōw

חֹ֥ק

ḥōq

､ וּמִשְׁפָּ֖ט

ū·miš·pāṭ

and an ordinance ､

וְשָׁ֥ם

wə·šām

. נִסָּֽהוּ׃

nis·sā·hū.

He tested them .

､ וַיֹּאמֶר֩

way·yō·mer

And said ､

אִם־

’im-

if

שָׁמ֨וֹעַ

šā·mō·w·a‘

תִּשְׁמַ֜ע

tiš·ma‘

לְק֣וֹל ׀

lə·qō·wl

יְהוָ֣ה

Yah·weh

､ אֱלֹהֶ֗יךָ

’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā,

וְהַיָּשָׁ֤ר

wə·hay·yā·šār

and what is right

בְּעֵינָיו֙

bə·‘ê·nāw

– תַּעֲשֶׂ֔ה

ta·‘ă·śeh,

do –

וְהַֽאֲזַנְתָּ֙

wə·ha·’ă·zan·tā

､ לְמִצְוֺתָ֔יו

lə·miṣ·wō·ṯāw,

to His commandments ､

וְשָׁמַרְתָּ֖

wə·šā·mar·tā

and keep

כָּל־

kāl-

､ חֻקָּ֑יו

ḥuq·qāw;

His statutes ､

כָּֽל־

kāl-

הַמַּֽחֲלָ֞ה

ham·ma·ḥă·lāh

of the diseases

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

שַׂ֤מְתִּי

śam·tî

､ בְמִצְרַ֙יִם֙

ḇə·miṣ·ra·yim

on Egypt ､

לֹא־

lō-

not

אָשִׂ֣ים

’ā·śîm

I will put

– עָלֶ֔יךָ

‘ā·le·ḵā,

on you –

כִּ֛י

kî

אֲנִ֥י

’ă·nî

I

יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

. רֹפְאֶֽךָ׃

rō·p̄ə·’e·ḵā.

who heals you .

וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ

way·yā·ḇō·’ū

– אֵילִ֔מָה

’ê·li·māh,

to Elim –

וְשָׁ֗ם

wə·šām,

and where there

שְׁתֵּ֥ים

šə·têm

עֶשְׂרֵ֛ה

‘eś·rêh

[and] ten

עֵינֹ֥ת

‘ê·nōṯ

､ מַ֖יִם

ma·yim

of water ､

וְשִׁבְעִ֣ים

wə·šiḇ·‘îm

– תְּמָרִ֑ים

tə·mā·rîm;

וַיַּחֲנוּ־

way·ya·ḥă·nū-

שָׁ֖ם

šām

עַל־

‘al-

by

. הַמָּֽיִם׃

ham·mā·yim.

the waters .
