take vengeance for

from [each] tribe ､

שְׁנֵים־

עָשָׂ֥ר

[and] ten

אֶ֖לֶף

חֲלוּצֵ֥י

. צָבָֽא׃

וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח

And sent

אֹתָ֥ם

לַמַּטֶּ֖ה

from [each] tribe

､ לַצָּבָ֑א

laṣ·ṣā·ḇā;

to the war ､

אֹ֠תָם

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and with

פִּ֨ינְחָ֜ס

pî·nə·ḥās

בֶּן־

ben-

אֶלְעָזָ֤ר

’el·‘ā·zār

､ הַכֹּהֵן֙

hak·kō·hên

the priest ､

､ לַצָּבָ֔א

laṣ·ṣā·ḇā,

to the war ､

､ וּכְלֵ֥י

and with articles ､

הַקֹּ֛דֶשׁ

the holy

and the trumpets

And they warred

the Midianites ､

כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר

צִוָּ֥ה

יְהוָ֖ה

and they killed

of the army ､

it shall be purified

יָבֹ֛א

בָּאֵ֖שׁ

תַּעֲבִ֥ירוּ

וְכִבַּסְתֶּ֧ם

And you shall wash

בִּגְדֵיכֶ֛ם

on the day ､

הַשְּׁבִיעִ֖י

､ וּטְהַרְתֶּ֑ם

and be clean ､

וְאַחַ֖ר

take [it]

וְנָתַתָּ֛ה

and give [it]

לְאֶלְעָזָ֥ר

､ הַכֹּהֵ֖ן

the priest ､

תְּרוּמַ֥ת

as a heave offering to

of the tabernacle

. יְהוָֽה׃

､ הַֽמֶּחֱצָ֔ה

the portion for

הַיֹּצְאִ֖ים

those who had gone out

､ בַּצָּבָ֑א

and signet rings ､

and earrings ､

､ וְכוּמָ֑ז

and necklaces ､

לְכַפֵּ֥ר

lə·ḵap·pêr

to make atonement

נַפְשֹׁתֵ֖ינוּ

לִפְנֵ֥י

lip̄·nê

. יְהוָֽה׃
