Zechariah 10

Judah and Israel will Be Restored

שַׁאֲל֨וּ

ša·’ă·lū

מֵיְהוָ֤ה

Yah·weh

מָטָר֙

mā·ṭār

בְּעֵ֣ת

bə·‘êṯ

in the time

– מַלְק֔וֹשׁ

mal·qō·wōš,

of the latter rain –

יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

עֹשֶׂ֣ה

‘ō·śeh

will make

､ חֲזִיזִ֑ים

ḥă·zî·zîm;

flashing clouds ､

､ וּמְטַר־

ū·mə·ṭar-

and rain ､

גֶּ֙שֶׁם֙

ge·šem

יִתֵּ֣ן

yit·tên

of He will give

לָהֶ֔ם

lā·hem,

לְאִ֖ישׁ

lə·’îš

עֵ֥שֶׂב

‘ê·śeḇ

. בַּשָּׂדֶֽה׃

baś·śā·ḏeh.

in the field .

כִּ֧י

kî

הַתְּרָפִ֣ים

hat·tə·rā·p̄îm

דִּבְּרוּ־

dib·bə·rū-

､ אָ֗וֶן

’ā·wen,

וְהַקּֽוֹסְמִים֙

wə·haq·qō·ws·mîm

and the diviners

חָ֣זוּ

ḥā·zū

､ שֶׁ֔קֶר

še·qer,

lies ､

– וַֽחֲלֹמוֹת֙

wa·ḥă·lō·mō·wṯ

and dreams –

הַשָּׁ֣וא‪‬

haš·šā·w

יְדַבֵּ֔רוּ

yə·ḏab·bê·rū,

– הֶ֖בֶל

he·ḇel

in vain –

יְנַֽחֵמ֑וּן

yə·na·ḥê·mūn;

עַל־

‘al-

כֵּן֙

kên

נָסְע֣וּ

nā·sə·‘ū

[the people] wend their way

כְמוֹ־

ḵə·mōw-

､ צֹ֔אן

ṣōn,

､ יַעֲנ֖וּ

ya·‘ă·nū

they are in trouble ､

כִּֽי־

kî-

אֵ֥ין

’ên

[there is] no

. רֹעֶֽה׃

rō·‘eh.

פ

-

עַל־

‘al-

､ הָֽרֹעִים֙

hā·rō·‘îm

the shepherds ､

חָרָ֣ה

ḥā·rāh

אַפִּ֔י

’ap·pî,

וְעַל־

wə·‘al-

and

– הָעַתּוּדִ֖ים

hā·‘at·tū·ḏîm

the goatherds –

אֶפְק֑וֹד

’ep̄·qō·wḏ;

I will punish

כִּֽי־

kî-

פָקַד֩

p̄ā·qaḏ

will visit

יְהוָ֨ה

Yah·weh

צְבָא֤וֹת

ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

עֶדְרוֹ֙

‘eḏ·rōw

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

בֵּ֣ית

bêṯ

､ יְהוּדָ֔ה

yə·hū·ḏāh,

of Judah ､

וְשָׂ֣ם

wə·śām

and will make

אוֹתָ֔ם

’ō·w·ṯām,

כְּס֥וּס

kə·sūs

הוֹד֖וֹ

hō·w·ḏōw

. בַּמִּלְחָמָֽה׃

bam·mil·ḥā·māh.

in the battle .

מִמֶּ֤נּוּ

mim·men·nū

､ פִנָּה֙

p̄in·nāh

the cornerstone ､

מִמֶּ֣נּוּ

mim·men·nū

､ יָתֵ֔ד

yā·ṯêḏ,

the [tent] peg ､

מִמֶּ֖נּוּ

mim·men·nū

､ קֶ֣שֶׁת

qe·šeṯ

the bow ､

מִלְחָמָ֑ה

mil·ḥā·māh;

מִמֶּ֛נּוּ

mim·men·nū

יֵצֵ֥א

yê·ṣê

כָל־

ḵāl

נוֹגֵ֖שׂ

nō·w·ḡêś

. יַחְדָּֽו׃

yaḥ·dāw.

וְהָי֨וּ

wə·hā·yū

And they shall be

כְגִבֹּרִ֜ים

ḵə·ḡib·bō·rîm

like mighty men

בּוֹסִ֨ים

bō·w·sîm

who tread down [their enemies]

בְּטִ֤יט

bə·ṭîṭ

in the mire

חוּצוֹת֙

ḥū·ṣō·wṯ

of the streets

– בַּמִּלְחָמָ֔ה

bam·mil·ḥā·māh,

in the battle –

､ וְנִ֨לְחֲמ֔וּ

wə·nil·ḥă·mū,

and they shall fight ､

כִּ֥י

kî

יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

עִמָּ֑ם

‘im·mām;

with them

וְהֹבִ֖ישׁוּ

wə·hō·ḇî·šū

and shall be put to shame

רֹכְבֵ֥י

rō·ḵə·ḇê

the riders on

. סוּסִֽים׃

sū·sîm.

וְגִבַּרְתִּ֣י ׀

wə·ḡib·bar·tî

And I will strengthen

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

בֵּ֣ית

bêṯ

､ יְהוּדָ֗ה

yə·hū·ḏāh,

of Judah ､

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

בֵּ֤ית

bêṯ

､ יוֹסֵף֙

yō·w·sêp̄

of Joseph ､

אוֹשִׁ֔יעַ

’ō·wō·šî·a‘,

I will save

וְהֽוֹשְׁבוֹתִים֙

wə·hō·wō·šə·ḇō·w·ṯîm

and I will bring them back

כִּ֣י

kî

רִֽחַמְתִּ֔ים

ri·ḥam·tîm,

I have mercy on them

וְהָי֖וּ

wə·hā·yū

and they shall be

כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר

ka·’ă·šer

לֹֽא־

lō-

not

– זְנַחְתִּ֑ים

zə·naḥ·tîm;

I had cast them aside –

כִּ֗י

kî,

אֲנִ֛י

’ă·nî

I [am]

יְהוָ֥ה

Yah·weh

､ אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֖ם

’ĕ·lō·hê·hem

. וְאֶעֱנֵֽם׃

wə·’e·‘ĕ·nêm.

and I will hear them .

וְהָי֤וּ

wə·hā·yū

And shall be

כְגִבּוֹר֙

ḵə·ḡib·bō·wr

like a mighty man

אֶפְרַ֔יִם

’ep̄·ra·yim,

[Those of] Ephraim

וְשָׂמַ֥ח

wə·śā·maḥ

and shall rejoice

לִבָּ֖ם

lib·bām

כְּמוֹ־

kə·mōw-

as if with

– יָ֑יִן

yā·yin;

wine –

וּבְנֵיהֶם֙

ū·ḇə·nê·hem

and Yes their children

יִרְא֣וּ

yir·’ū

וְשָׂמֵ֔חוּ

wə·śā·mê·ḥū,

and be glad

יָגֵ֥ל

yā·ḡêl

לִבָּ֖ם

lib·bām

. בַּיהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

אֶשְׁרְקָ֥ה

’eš·rə·qāh

I will whistle

לָהֶ֛ם

lā·hem

וַאֲקַבְּצֵ֖ם

wa·’ă·qab·bə·ṣêm

and gather them

כִּ֣י

kî

פְדִיתִ֑ים

p̄ə·ḏî·ṯîm;

I will redeem them

וְרָב֖וּ

wə·rā·ḇū

and they shall increase

כְּמ֥וֹ

kə·mōw

as

. רָבֽוּ׃

rā·ḇū.

they once increased .

וְאֶזְרָעֵם֙

wə·’ez·rā·‘êm

And I will sow them

､ בָּֽעַמִּ֔ים

bā·‘am·mîm,

among the peoples ､

– וּבַמֶּרְחַקִּ֖ים

ū·ḇam·mer·ḥaq·qîm

and in far countries –

יִזְכְּר֑וּנִי

yiz·kə·rū·nî;

they shall remember Me

וְחָי֥וּ

wə·ḥā·yū

and they shall live

אֶת־

’eṯ-

､ בְּנֵיהֶ֖ם

bə·nê·hem

their children ､

. וָשָֽׁבוּ׃

wā·šā·ḇū.

and they shall return .

וַהֲשִֽׁיבוֹתִים֙

wa·hă·šî·ḇō·w·ṯîm

And I will bring them back

מֵאֶ֣רֶץ

mê·’e·reṣ

､ מִצְרַ֔יִם

miṣ·ra·yim,

of Egypt ､

וּמֵֽאַשּׁ֖וּר

ū·mê·’aš·šūr

and from Assyria

אֲקַבְּצֵ֑ם

’ă·qab·bə·ṣêm;

וְאֶל־

wə·’el-

and into

אֶ֨רֶץ

’e·reṣ

the land

גִּלְעָ֤ד

gil·‘āḏ

– וּלְבָנוֹן֙

ū·lə·ḇā·nō·wn

and Lebanon –

אֲבִיאֵ֔ם

’ă·ḇî·’êm,

I will bring them

וְלֹ֥א

wə·lō

and Until no

יִמָּצֵ֖א

yim·mā·ṣê

[more room] is found

. לָהֶֽם׃

lā·hem.

וְעָבַ֨ר

wə·‘ā·ḇar

And He shall pass

בַּיָּ֜ם

bay·yām

through the sea

､ צָרָ֗ה

ṣā·rāh,

with affliction ､

וְהִכָּ֤ה

wə·hik·kāh

､ בַיָּם֙

ḇay·yām

the sea ､

גַּלִּ֔ים

gal·lîm,

– וְהֹבִ֕ישׁוּ

wə·hō·ḇî·šū

and shall dry up –

כֹּ֖ל

kōl

מְצוּל֣וֹת

mə·ṣū·lō·wṯ

יְאֹ֑ר

yə·’ōr;

of the Nile

､ וְהוּרַד֙

wə·hū·raḏ

and shall be brought down ､

גְּא֣וֹן

gə·’ō·wn

אַשּׁ֔וּר

’aš·šūr,

וְשֵׁ֥בֶט

wə·šê·ḇeṭ

and the scepter

מִצְרַ֖יִם

miṣ·ra·yim

. יָסֽוּר׃

yā·sūr.

וְגִבַּרְתִּים֙

wə·ḡib·bar·tîm

So I will strengthen them

– בַּֽיהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

in Yahweh –

､ וּבִשְׁמ֖וֹ

ū·ḇiš·mōw

and in His name ､

יִתְהַלָּ֑כוּ

yiṯ·hal·lā·ḵū;

they shall walk up and down

נְאֻ֖ם

nə·’um

. יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.
