“He removes intelligence and understanding from the leaders of the people of the earth
And makes them wander and move blindly in a pathless waste.

Would God ye kept your tongue, that ye might be taken for wise men!

Give ear to the argument of my mouth, and take note of the words of my lips.

Is any one able to take up the argument against me? If so, I would keep quiet and give up my breath.


Withdraw Your hand from me and remove this bodily suffering,
And let not the dread of You terrify me.

Do You really take notice of one like this?
Will You bring me into judgment against You?

Let your eyes be turned away from him, and take your hand from him, so that he may have pleasure at the end of his day, like a servant working for payment.
