For look how high the heaven is in comparison of the earth; so great is his mercy also toward them that fear him.

and they shall know how that this is thy hand, and that thou, LORD, hast done it.


What will I give to the Lord [in return]
For all His benefits toward me?
[How can I repay Him for His precious blessings?]

Behold, O LORD, how that I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thy handmaid. Thou hast broken my bonds in sunder.

How I long for Your precepts!
Give me life through Your righteousness.

How many are the days of thy servant? when wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me?


I will never forget Your precepts,
For by them You have revived me and given me life.


I have seen that all [human] perfection has its limits [no matter how grand and perfect and noble];
Your commandment is exceedingly broad and extends without limits [into eternity].

How will he severely punish you, you deceptive talker?

How happy the man that doth hearken to me, - keeping guard at my doors, day by day, watching at the posts of my gates;

The talking of the ungodly is how they may lay wait for blood; but the mouth of the righteous will deliver them.

He that sheweth contempt for his neighbour, sinneth, but, he that sheweth favour to the afflicted, how happy is he!


The heart of the righteous thinks carefully about how to answer [in a wise and appropriate and timely way],
But the [babbling] mouth of the wicked pours out malevolent things.

The road of the upright circumvents evil, and whoever watches how he lives preserves his life.

He that showeth discretion concerning a matter, shall find good, and, he that trusteth in Yahweh, how happy is he!

How will money in the hand of the foolish get him wisdom, seeing that he has no sense?

Good living beseemeth not a fool; how much less for a servant to have rule over princes.

The righteous man considereth the house of the wicked, How the wicked are overthrown to their ruin.

To make you see how certain are true words, so that you may give a true answer to those who put questions to you?

Look not thou upon the wine, how red it is, and what a color it giveth in the glass.

There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
