But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said,
Again therefore Jesus said to them, "In most solemn truth I tell you that I am the Door of the sheep.
So you also, when you see all these signs, may be sure that He is near--at your very door.
"So they went to buy. But meanwhile the bridegroom came; those bridesmaids who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet; and the door was shut.
Upon their arrival they called the Church together and proceeded to report in detail all that God, working with them, had done, and how He had opened for the Gentiles the door of faith.
Now when I came into the Troad to spread there the Good News about the Christ, even though in the Lord's providence a door stood open before me,
I know your doings. I have put an opened door in front of you, which no one can shut; because you have but a little power, and yet you have guarded My word and have not disowned Me.
I shall remain in Ephesus, however, until the time of the Harvest Festival, for a wide door stands open before me which demands great efforts, and we have many opponents.
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For it is always he who asks that receives, he who seeks that finds, and he who knocks that has the door opened to him.
And pray at the same time for us also, that God may open for us a door for preaching, for us to tell the truth concerning Christ for the sake of which I am even a prisoner.

"Afterwards the other bridesmaids came and cried, "'Sir, Sir, open the door to us.' "'In solemn truth I tell you,' he replied, 'I do not know you.'
