'Know' in the Bible
And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin.
Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be great, and thine offspring as the grass of the earth.
Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thy good.
He shall return no more to his house, neither shall his place know him any more.
(For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:)
I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?
Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger.
Though I were perfect, yet would I not know my soul: I would despise my life.
I am afraid of all my sorrows, I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent.
I will say to God:“Do not declare me guilty!Let me know why You prosecute me.
even though You know that I am not wickedand that there is no one who can deliver from Your hand?
And these things hast thou hid in thine heart: I know that this is with thee.
And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.
It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?
But I also have a mind;I am not inferior to you.Who doesn’t know the things you are talking about?
Which of all these does not knowthat the hand of the Lord has done this?
What ye know, the same do I know also: I am not inferior unto you.
Behold now, I have ordered my cause; I know that I shall be justified.
How many are mine iniquities and sins? make me to know my transgression and my sin.
If his sons receive honor, he does not know it;if they become insignificant, he is unaware of it.
What knowest thou, that we know not? what understandest thou, which is not in us?
“If I speak [to you miserable comforters], my pain is not relieved;And if I refrain [from speaking], what [pain or anguish] leaves me?
Indeed, such is the dwelling of the unjust man,and this is the place of the one who does not know God.
Know now that God hath overthrown me, and hath compassed me with his net.
For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
Be ye afraid of the sword: for wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment.
Don’t you know that ever since antiquity,from the time man was placed on earth,
he will vanish forever like his own dung.Those who know him will ask, “Where is he?”
Yet they say to God: “Leave us alone!We don’t want to know Your ways.
God layeth up his iniquity for his children: he rewardeth him, and he shall know it.
Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices which ye wrongfully imagine against me.
Have ye not asked them that go by the way? and do ye not know their tokens,
And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?
"Get to know God, and you'll be at peace with him, and then prosperity will come to you.
I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.
Why, seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his days?
They are of those that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof.
In the dark they dig through houses, which they had marked for themselves in the daytime: they know not the light.
For the morning is to them even as the shadow of death: if one know them, they are in the terrors of the shadow of death.
"[It is] a path a bird of prey does not know and [the] black kite's eye has not seen.
No man can know its value,since it cannot be found in the land of the living.
I was a father to the needy; I diligently inquired into the case of those I didn't know.
For I know that thou wilt bring me to death, and to the house appointed for all living.
Let me be weighed in an even balance, that God may know mine integrity.
So Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite replied:I am young in years,while you are old;therefore I was timid and afraidto tell you what I know.
Therefore I say, “Listen to me.I too will declare what I know.”
I too will answer;yes, I will tell what I know.
For I know not to give flattering titles; in so doing my maker would soon take me away.
My words come from my upright heart,and my lips speak with sincerity what they know.
“Why do you complain against Him?That He does not answer [you with] all His doings.
to show favor to him and to plead, "Deliver him from having to go down to the Pit I know where his ransom is!'
“Hear my words, you wise men,And listen to me, you who know.
Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what is good.
Should God repay you on your termswhen you have rejected His?You must choose, not I!So declare what you know.
But now, because he hath not visited in his anger, doth not Job know his great arrogancy?
I'll take what I know to its logical conclusion and ascribe righteousness to my Creator,
Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.
God thundereth with His voice wonderfully, Doing great things and we know not.
He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.
Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?
Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?
Let us know what we say to Him, We set not in array because of darkness.
Gird, I pray thee, as a man, thy loins, And I ask thee, and cause thou Me to know.
“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?Tell Me, if you know and have understanding.
Who fixed its dimensions? Certainly you know!Who stretched a measuring line across it?
Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;
Have you comprehended the extent of the earth?Tell Me, if you know all this.
Where is the road to the home of light?Do you know where darkness lives,
That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?
Don’t you know? You were already born;you have lived so long!
Do you know the laws of heaven?Can you impose its authority on earth?
Do you know when mountain goats give birth?Have you watched the deer in labor?
Can you count the months they are pregnantso you can know the time they give birth?
Gird, I pray thee, as a man, thy loins, I ask thee, and cause thou Me to know.
I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.
You asked, “Who is this who conceals My counsel with ignorance?”Surely I spoke about things I did not understand,things too wonderful for me to know.
Hear, I pray thee, and I -- I do speak, I ask thee, and cause thou me to know.'
