For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.
“And now, listen carefully: I know that none of you, among whom I went about preaching the kingdom, will see me again.
And he said, ‘The God of our fathers has appointed you to know His will, [and to progressively understand His plan with clarity and power] and to see the Righteous One [Jesus Christ, the Messiah] and to hear a message from His [own] mouth.
King Agrippa, do you believe the [writings of the] Prophets [their messages and words]? I know that you do.”
And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.
Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:
For this people's heart is waxed gross, And their ears are dull of hearing, And their eyes they have closed; Lest, haply they should perceive with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And should turn again, And I should heal them.
