A Lament For Disobedient Judah

²⁶ Yet they did not listen to Me or incline their ear, but stiffened their neck; they did more evil than their fathers. ²⁷ “You shall speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to you; and you shall call to them, but they will not answer you. ²⁸ You shall say to them, ‘This is the nation that did not obey the voice of the Lord their God or accept correction; truth has perished and has been cut off from their mouth.

Isaiah 50:2

“Why was there no man when I came?
When I called, why was there none to answer?
Is My hand so short that it cannot ransom?
Or have I no power to deliver?
Behold, I dry up the sea with My rebuke,
I make the rivers a wilderness;
Their fish stink for lack of water
And die of thirst.

I will destine you for the sword,
And all of you will bow down to the slaughter.
Because I called, but you did not answer;

And chose that in which I did not delight.”
