Numbers 13:25

The Spies Return

²⁴ That place he called the valley of Eshcol on account of the cluster of grapes that the {Israelites} cut off from there. ²⁵ They returned from exploring the land at the end of forty days. ²⁶ And they came to Moses and Aaron and to the entire community of the {Israelites} in the desert of Paran at Kadesh; they brought back word to them and [to] all the community, and they showed them the fruit of the land.

Forty Days

Exodus 24:18

And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and he went up the mountain, and Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

Exodus 34:28

And he was there with Yahweh forty days and forty nights. He ate no food and drank no water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten words.

Numbers 14:33-34

And your children will be shepherds in the desert forty years, and you will bear your unfaithfulness until {all your corpses have fallen} in the desert.
