sells it ､

חֲמִשָּׁ֣ה

בָקָ֗ר

ḇā·qār,

יְשַׁלֵּם֙

yə·šal·lêm

he shall restore

תַּ֣חַת

ta·ḥaṯ

､ הַשּׁ֔וֹר

haš·šō·wr,

an ox ､

וְאַרְבַּע־

wə·’ar·ba‘-

and four

צֹ֖אן

ṣōn

תַּ֥חַת

ta·ḥaṯ

. הַשֶּֽׂה׃

haś·śeh.

אִם־

’im-

If

בַּמַּחְתֶּ֛רֶת

bam·maḥ·te·reṯ

יִמָּצֵ֥א

yim·mā·ṣê

הַגַּנָּ֖ב

hag·gan·nāḇ

וְהֻכָּ֣ה

wə·huk·kāh

and he is struck

､ וָמֵ֑ת

wā·mêṯ;

so that he dies ､

אֵ֥ין

’ên

[there shall be] no guilt

ל֖וֹ

lōw

. דָּמִֽים׃

dā·mîm.

אִם־

’im-

If

זָרְחָ֥ה

zā·rə·ḥāh

הַשֶּׁ֛מֶשׁ

haš·še·meš

the sun

､ עָלָ֖יו

‘ā·lāw

on him ､

דָּמִ֣ים

dā·mîm

[there shall be] guilt

. ל֑וֹ

lōw;

for his bloodshed .

שַׁלֵּ֣ם

šal·lêm

– יְשַׁלֵּ֔ם

yə·šal·lêm,

He should make restitution –

אִם־

’im-

if

אֵ֣ין

’ên

､ ל֔וֹ

lōw,

he ､

וְנִמְכַּ֖ר

wə·nim·kar

then he shall be sold

. בִּגְנֵבָתֽוֹ׃

biḡ·nê·ḇā·ṯōw.

for his theft .

הִמָּצֵא֩

him·mā·ṣê

תִמָּצֵ֨א

ṯim·mā·ṣê

בְיָד֜וֹ

ḇə·yā·ḏōw

､ הַגְּנֵבָ֗ה

hag·gə·nê·ḇāh,

the theft ､

､ מִשּׁ֧וֹר

miš·šō·wr

whether it is an ox ､

עַד־

‘aḏ-

or

､ חֲמ֛וֹר

ḥă·mō·wr

עַד־

‘aḏ-

or

､ שֶׂ֖ה

śeh

חַיִּ֑ים

ḥay·yîm;

שְׁנַ֖יִם

šə·na·yim

. יְשַׁלֵּֽם׃

yə·šal·lêm.

he shall restore .

causes to be grazed

､ כֶ֔רֶם

וְשִׁלַּח֙

wə·šil·laḥ

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

[בעירה]

bə·‘î·rāh

-

､ (בְּעִיר֔וֹ)

bə·‘î·rōw,

וּבִעֵ֖ר

ū·ḇi·‘êr

and it feeds

בִּשְׂדֵ֣ה

biś·ḏêh

אַחֵ֑ר

’a·ḥêr;

מֵיטַ֥ב

mê·ṭaḇ

､ שָׂדֵ֛הוּ

śā·ḏê·hū

of his own field ､

וּמֵיטַ֥ב

ū·mê·ṭaḇ

and the best

､ כַּרְמ֖וֹ

kar·mōw

of his own vineyard ､

. יְשַׁלֵּֽם׃

yə·šal·lêm.

he shall make restitution .

so that is consumed

stacked grain ､

א֥וֹ

’ōw

､ הַקָּמָ֖ה

haq·qā·māh

standing grain ､

א֣וֹ

’ōw

or

､ הַשָּׂדֶ֑ה

haś·śā·ḏeh;

the field ､

שַׁלֵּ֣ם

šal·lêm

. יְשַׁלֵּ֔ם

yə·šal·lêm,

shall make restitution .

הַמַּבְעִ֖ר

ham·maḇ·‘ir

אֶת־

. הַבְּעֵרָֽה׃

the fire .

the judges ､

בִּמְלֶ֥אכֶת

of the two of them .

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

יַרְשִׁיעֻן֙

yar·šî·‘un

､ אֱלֹהִ֔ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm,

the judges ､

יְשַׁלֵּ֥ם

yə·šal·lêm

שְׁנַ֖יִם

šə·na·yim

. לְרֵעֵֽהוּ׃

lə·rê·‘ê·hū.

to his neighbor .

the two of them ､

בִּמְלֶ֣אכֶת

､ רֵעֵ֑הוּ

rê·‘ê·hū;

of his neighbor ､

וְלָקַ֥ח

wə·lā·qaḥ

and shall accept [that]

בְּעָלָ֖יו

bə·‘ā·lāw

the owner of it

וְלֹ֥א

wə·lō

and not

. יְשַׁלֵּֽם׃

yə·šal·lêm.

he shall make [it] good .

וְאִם־

wə·’im-

But if

גָּנֹ֥ב

gā·nōḇ

יִגָּנֵ֖ב

yig·gā·nêḇ

it is stolen

､ מֵעִמּ֑וֹ

mê·‘im·mōw;

יְשַׁלֵּ֖ם

yə·šal·lêm

he shall make restitution

. לִבְעָלָֽיו׃

liḇ·‘ā·lāw.

to the owner of it .

אִם־

’im-

If

טָרֹ֥ף

ṭā·rōp̄

､ יִטָּרֵ֖ף

yiṭ·ṭā·rêp̄

it is torn [by a beast] ､

יְבִאֵ֣הוּ

yə·ḇi·’ê·hū

[then] he shall bring it

עֵ֑ד

‘êḏ;

. הַטְּרֵפָ֖ה

haṭ·ṭə·rê·p̄āh

what was torn .

לֹ֥א

lō

Not

. יְשַׁלֵּֽם׃

yə·šal·lêm.

[and] he shall make good .

And if

יִשְׁאַ֥ל

borrows [anything]

אִ֛ישׁ

מֵעִ֥ם

､ רֵעֵ֖הוּ

his neighbor ､

､ וְנִשְׁבַּ֣ר

wə·niš·bar

and it becomes injured ､

אוֹ־

’ōw-

or

､ מֵ֑ת

mêṯ;

dies ､

בְּעָלָ֥יו

bə·‘ā·lāw

the owner of it

､ אֵין־

’ên-

not ､

עִמּ֖וֹ

‘im·mōw

[being] with it

שַׁלֵּ֥ם

šal·lêm

. יְשַׁלֵּֽם׃

yə·šal·lêm.

he shall make [it] good .

אִם־

בְּעָלָ֥יו

its owner [was]

､ עִמּ֖וֹ

‘im·mōw

with it ､

לֹ֣א

– יְשַׁלֵּ֑ם

he shall make [it] good –

. בִּשְׂכָרֽוֹ׃

and lies

､ עִמָּ֑הּ

‘im·māh;

with her ､

מָהֹ֛ר

mā·hōr

יִמְהָרֶ֥נָּה

yim·hā·ren·nāh

he shall pay the bride-price

לּ֖וֹ

lōw

. לְאִשָּֽׁה׃

lə·’iš·šāh.

for her [to be] his wife .

מָאֵ֧ן

יְמָאֵ֛ן

אָבִ֖יהָ

לְתִתָּ֣הּ

lə·ṯit·tāh

､ ל֑וֹ

lōw;

to him ､

כֶּ֣סֶף

יִשְׁקֹ֔ל

כְּמֹ֖הַר

according to the bride-price

. הַבְּתוּלֹֽת׃

hab·bə·ṯū·lōṯ.

Not

. תְחַיֶּֽה׃

ṯə·ḥay·yeh.

You shall permit to live .

with

בְּהֵמָ֖ה

bə·hê·māh

מ֥וֹת

mō·wṯ

. יוּמָֽת׃

yū·māṯ.

shall be put to death .

He who sacrifices

､ לָאֱלֹהִ֖ים

lā·’ĕ·lō·hîm

to [any] god ､

. יָֽחֳרָ֑ם

yā·ḥo·rām;

he shall be utterly destroyed .

בִּלְתִּ֥י

bil·tî

לַיהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

､ לְבַדּֽוֹ׃

lə·ḇad·dōw.

only ､

וְגֵ֥ר

wə·ḡêr

לֹא־

תוֹנֶ֖ה

ṯō·w·neh

You shall mistreat

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

､ תִלְחָצֶ֑נּוּ

ṯil·ḥā·ṣen·nū;

oppress him ､

כִּֽי־

kî-

גֵרִ֥ים

ḡê·rîm

הֱיִיתֶ֖ם

hĕ·yî·ṯem

בְּאֶ֥רֶץ

bə·’e·reṣ

in the land

. מִצְרָֽיִם׃

miṣ·rā·yim.

of Egypt .

וְיָת֖וֹם

or fatherless child

You shall afflict .

צָעֹ֤ק

､ אֵלַ֔י

to Me ､

שָׁמֹ֥עַ

šā·mō·a‘

אֶשְׁמַ֖ע

’eš·ma‘

I will hear

– צַעֲקָתֽוֹ׃

ṣa·‘ă·qā·ṯōw.

וְחָרָ֣ה

wə·ḥā·rāh

and will become hot

､ אַפִּ֔י

’ap·pî,

My wrath ､

וְהָרַגְתִּ֥י

wə·hā·raḡ·tî

and I will kill

אֶתְכֶ֖ם

’eṯ·ḵem

– בֶּחָ֑רֶב

be·ḥā·reḇ;

with the sword –

וְהָי֤וּ

wə·hā·yū

and shall be

נְשֵׁיכֶם֙

nə·šê·ḵem

､ אַלְמָנ֔וֹת

’al·mā·nō·wṯ,

וּבְנֵיכֶ֖ם

ū·ḇə·nê·ḵem

and your children

. יְתֹמִֽים׃

yə·ṯō·mîm.

like a moneylender ､

לֹֽא־

תְשִׂימ֥וּן

you shall charge

עָלָ֖יו

‘ā·lāw

. נֶֽשֶׁךְ׃

ne·šeḵ.

אִם־

’im-

If

חָבֹ֥ל

ḥā·ḇōl

תַּחְבֹּ֖ל

taḥ·bōl

you take as a pledge

שַׂלְמַ֣ת

śal·maṯ

､ רֵעֶ֑ךָ

rê·‘e·ḵā;

of your neighbor ､

עַד־

‘aḏ-

בֹּ֥א

bō

､ הַשֶּׁ֖מֶשׁ

haš·še·meš

the sun ､

תְּשִׁיבֶ֥נּוּ

tə·šî·ḇen·nū

you shall return it

. לֽוֹ׃

to him .

[כסותה]

(כְסוּתוֹ֙)

[is] his covering

לְבַדָּ֔הּ

lə·ḇad·dāh,

､ הִ֥וא

it ､

שִׂמְלָת֖וֹ

śim·lā·ṯōw

[is] his garment

. לְעֹר֑וֹ

lə·‘ō·rōw;

בַּמֶּ֣ה

bam·meh

؟ יִשְׁכָּ֔ב

yiš·kāḇ,

will he sleep ؟

וְהָיָה֙

wə·hā·yāh

and it will be

כִּֽי־

kî-

יִצְעַ֣ק

yiṣ·‘aq

､ אֵלַ֔י

’ê·lay,

to Me ､

､ וְשָׁמַעְתִּ֖י

wə·šā·ma‘·tî

and I will hear ､

כִּֽי־

kî-

חַנּ֥וּן

ḥan·nūn

. אָֽנִי׃

’ā·nî.

､ תְקַלֵּ֑ל

You shall revile ､

וְנָשִׂ֥יא

wə·nā·śî

and a ruler

בְעַמְּךָ֖

ḇə·‘am·mə·ḵā

לֹ֥א

. תָאֹֽר׃

ṯā·’ōr.

מְלֵאָתְךָ֥

mə·lê·’ā·ṯə·ḵā

The first of your ripe produce

וְדִמְעֲךָ֖

wə·ḏim·‘ă·ḵā

and your juices

לֹ֣א

lō

not

. תְאַחֵ֑ר

ṯə·’a·ḥêr;

You shall delay [to offer] .

בְּכ֥וֹר

bə·ḵō·wr

בָּנֶ֖יךָ

bā·ne·ḵā

תִּתֶּן־

tit·ten-

. לִּֽי׃

lî

to Me .

כֵּֽן־

kên-

תַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה

ta·‘ă·śeh

､ לְשֹׁרְךָ֖

lə·šō·rə·ḵā

with your oxen ､

: לְצֹאנֶ֑ךָ

lə·ṣō·ne·ḵā;

[and] your sheep :

שִׁבְעַ֤ת

šiḇ·‘aṯ

יָמִים֙

yā·mîm

יִהְיֶ֣ה

yih·yeh

it shall be

עִם־

‘im-

with

– אִמּ֔וֹ

’im·mōw,

בַּיּ֥וֹם

bay·yō·wm

on the day

הַשְּׁמִינִ֖י

haš·šə·mî·nî

תִּתְּנוֹ־

tit·tə·nōw-

you shall give it

. לִֽי׃

lî.

to Me .

וְאַנְשֵׁי־

wə·’an·šê-

And men

קֹ֖דֶשׁ

qō·ḏeš

. תִּהְי֣וּן

tih·yūn

לִ֑י

lî;

To Me

וּבָשָׂ֨ר

ū·ḇā·śār

and meat

בַּשָּׂדֶ֤ה

baś·śā·ḏeh

in the field

טְרֵפָה֙

ṭə·rê·p̄āh

torn [by beasts]

לֹ֣א

lō

not

. תֹאכֵ֔לוּ

ṯō·ḵê·lū,

you shall eat .

לַכֶּ֖לֶב

lak·ke·leḇ

To the dogs

תַּשְׁלִכ֥וּן

taš·li·ḵūn

you shall throw

. אֹתֽוֹ׃

’ō·ṯōw.
