'Took an Oath' in the Bible
And he took an oath, saying to her, Whatever is your desire I will give it to you, even half of my kingdom.
In the morning, the Jewish leaders formed a conspiracy and took an oath not to eat or drink anything before they had killed Paul.
For when God made His promise to Abraham, He took an oath by Himself, since He had no one greater by whom He could take it,
and took an oath to God, who lives forever and ever, and who created heaven and earth and [all] the things in them, and the ocean and [all] the things in it [saying], "There will be no further delay [i.e., before God's purposes are fulfilled].
