2 Samuel 20:23-26 - David's Officials

²³ Joab commanded the whole army of Israel; Benaiah son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and Pelethites; ²⁴ Adoram was in charge of forced labor; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was court historian; ²⁵ Sheva was court secretary; Zadok and Abiathar were priests; ²⁶ and in addition, Ira the Jairite was David’s priest.

¹⁵ So David reigned over all Israel, administering justice and righteousness for all his people. ¹⁶ Joab son of Zeruiah was over the army;
Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was court historian;
¹⁷ Zadok son of Ahitub
and Ahimelech son of Abiathar were priests;
Seraiah was court secretary;
¹⁸ Benaiah son of Jehoiada was over
the Cherethites and the Pelethites;
and David’s sons were chief officials.
