The Heb. Kasdim is generaliy rendered 'Chaldees' (Ge 11:28), and in Jer 50:10; 51:24; 24:5; 25:12, and often, is used for 'Babylonian.' The word is derived from the Babylonian name Kald
Haran died in the presence of his father Terah in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Chaldeans.
"Thus says the LORD God of Israel, 'Like these good figs, so I will regard as good the captives of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans.
