1. ?????????, 'worship or reverence of God,' 'reverential fear of God.' 1Ti 2:10. The same word is used in the LXX for 'the fear of God' in Ge 20:11, and for 'the fear of the Lord' in Job 28:28.
2. ????????, from 'to worship well,' hence piety towards God. The word 'piety' seems to suit all the passages where the Greek word occurs. Ac 3:12; 1Ti 2:2; 3:16; 4:7-8; 6:3,5-6,11; 2Ti 3:5; Tit 1:1; 2Pe 1:3,6-7; 3:11.
