While the meat was yet between their teeth, before it was consumed, the anger of the Lord was kindled against the people, and the Lord smote them with a very great plague. That place was called Kibroth-hattaavah [the graves of sensuous desire], because there they buried the people who lusted, whose physical appetite caused them to sin.
How long will this evil congregation murmur against Me? I have heard the complaints the Israelites murmur against Me.

And the people spoke against God and against Moses, Why have you brought us out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? Then the Lord sent fiery (burning) serpents among the people; and they bit the people, and many Israelites died.
Nor discontentedly complain as some of them did -- "and were put out of the way entirely by the destroyer (death).
