"God will not turn back His anger; Beneath Him crouch the helpers of Rahab.

"He quieted the sea with His power, And by His understanding He shattered Rahab.

You divided the sea by Your strength; You broke the heads of the sea monsters in the waters. You crushed the heads of Leviathan; You gave him as food for the creatures of the wilderness.

"I shall mention Rahab and Babylon among those who know Me; Behold, Philistia and Tyre with Ethiopia: 'This one was born there.'" But of Zion it shall be said, "This one and that one were born in her"; And the Most High Himself will establish her.

You Yourself crushed Rahab like one who is slain; You scattered Your enemies with Your mighty arm.

Even Egypt, whose help is vain and empty Therefore, I have called her "Rahab who has been exterminated."

"Behold, you rely on the staff of this crushed reed, even on Egypt, on which if a man leans, it will go into his hand and pierce it So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who rely on him.

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; Awake as in the days of old, the generations of long ago Was it not You who cut Rahab in pieces, Who pierced the dragon?
