a moral rather than an intellectual quality. To be "foolish" is to be godless (Ps 14:1; comp. Jg 19:23; 2Sa 13:13). True wisdom is a gift from God to those who ask it (Job 28:12-28; Pr 3:13-18; Ro 1:22; 16:27; 1Co 1:17-21; 2:6-8; Jas 1:5). "Wisdom" in Pr 1:20; 8:1; 9:1-5 may be regarded not as a mere personification of the attribute of wisdom, but as a divine person, "Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God" (1Co 1:24). In Mt 11:19 it is the personified principle of wisdom that is meant.

And the man, the master of the house, went out and said to them, No, my kinsmen, I pray you, do not act so wickedly; seeing that this man is my guest, do not do this [wicked] folly.
But where shall Wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding? Man knows not the price of it; neither is it found in the land of the living. read more. The [empty-headed] fool has said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable deeds; there is none that does good or right.
Happy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) is the man who finds skillful and godly Wisdom, and the man who gets understanding [drawing it forth from God's Word and life's experiences], For the gaining of it is better than the gaining of silver, and the profit of it better than fine gold. read more. Skillful and godly Wisdom is more precious than rubies; and nothing you can wish for is to be compared to her. Length of days is in her right hand, and in her left hand are riches and honor. Does not skillful and godly Wisdom cry out, and understanding raise her voice [in contrast to the loose woman]?
Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn out and set up her seven [perfect number of] pillars. She has killed her beasts, she has mixed her [spiritual] wine; she has also set her table. read more. She has sent out her maids to cry from the highest places of the town: Whoever is simple (easily led astray and wavering), let him turn in here! If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.
