Acts 9:1 (show verse)

And Saul, yet breathing threatening and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, going to the high priest,

Acts 9:2 (show verse)

asked from him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that, if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.

Acts 9:3 (show verse)

And, as he was journeying, it came to pass, that he was drawing nigh to Damascus; and suddenly there flashed around him a light from Heaven;

Acts 9:4 (show verse)

and, having fallen upon the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?"

Acts 9:5 (show verse)

And he said, "Who art Thou, Lord?" And He said, "I am Jesus Whom you are persecuting.

Acts 9:6 (show verse)

But arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told you what you must do."

Acts 9:7 (show verse)

And the men who were journeying with him were standing speechless; hearing, indeed, the voice, but beholding no one.

Acts 9:8 (show verse)

And Saul arose from the earth; and, his eyes being opened, he beheld nothing; but, taking him by the hand, they led him into Damascus.

And he was three days without seeing; and he neither ate, nor drank.

Acts 9:10 (show verse)

And there was a certain disciple in Damascus, Ananias by name; and the Lord said to him in a vision, "Ananias?" And he said, "Behold, I am here, Lord!"

And the Lord said to him, "Arise, go to the street that is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for one named Saul of Tarsus; for, behold, he is praying;

Acts 9:12 (show verse)

and in a vision he saw a man, Ananias by name, coming in, and laying his hands on him, that he might receive sight."

Acts 9:13 (show verse)

And Ananias answered, "Lord, I heard from many concerning this man, how many evils he did to Thy saints in Jerusalem;

Acts 9:14 (show verse)

and here he has authority from the high priests to bind all those calling on Thy name."

Acts 9:15 (show verse)

But the Lord said to him, "Go your way; because this man is to Me a chosen vessel to bear My name before nations, and kings, and the sons of Israel;

Acts 9:16 (show verse)

for I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name's sake.

And Ananias went away, and entered into the house; and, laying his hands on him, said, "Brother Saul, the Lord hath sent me??ven Jesus, Who appeared to you in the way in which you were coming, sent me, that you may receive sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit."

Acts 9:18 (show verse)

and straightway there fell from his eyes as it were scales, and he received sight; and, arising, he was immersed; and, having taken food, he was strengthened.

And he was with the disciples in Damascus some days;

Acts 9:20 (show verse)

and straightway in the synagogues he was preaching Jesus, that He is the Son of God.

And all who heard were astonished, and said, "Is not this he who destroyed, in Jerusalem, those calling upon this name, and had come here for this purpose, that he might bring them bound to the high priests?"

But Saul was being more empowered, and was confounding the Jews who were dwelling in Damascus; proving that this is the Christ.

And, when many days were completed, the Jews took counsel together to kill him;

Acts 9:24 (show verse)

but their plot became known to Saul. And they were watching the gates also, both day and night, that they might kill him;

Acts 9:25 (show verse)

but the disciples, taking him by night, let him down through the wall, lowering him in a basket.

Acts 9:26 (show verse)

Now, having come to Jerusalem, he was trying to join himself to the disciples; and they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.

But Barnabas, taking him, brought him to the apostles, and narrated to them how he saw the Lord in the way, and that He spake to him; and how, in Damascus, he spake boldly in the name of Jesus.

And he was with them, going in and going out at Jerusalem,

Acts 9:29 (show verse)

preaching boldly in the name of the Lord; and he was speaking and disputing with the Helenists; but they were attempting to kill him;

Acts 9:30 (show verse)

but the brethren, learning it, brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.

Acts 9:31 (show verse)

The assembly, therefore, throughout the whole of Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, was having peace, being built up; and, walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the consolation of the Holy Spirit, was being multiplied.

And it came to pass that Peter, going through all parts, came down also to the saints who were dwelling at Lydda.

Acts 9:33 (show verse)

And he found there a certain man, Aeneas by name, for eight years lying prostrate on a couch, who was paralyzed.

Acts 9:34 (show verse)

And Peter said to him, "Aeneas, Jesus Christ healeth you; arise, and make your bed." And straightway he arose.

Acts 9:35 (show verse)

And all who were dwelling in Lydda and in Sharon saw him; and they turned to the Lord.

Acts 9:36 (show verse)

Now there was in Joppa a certain disciple, Tabitha by name, (which being translated means Dorcas): this woman was full of good works and alms which she was accustomed to do.

And it came to pass in those days that she, having become sick, died; and, having washed her, they laid her in an upper chamber.

Acts 9:38 (show verse)

And, Lydda being near to Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent to him two men, entreating him, "Delay not to come to us!"

Acts 9:39 (show verse)

And Peter, having arisen, went with them; whom, having come, they led up into the upper chamber; and there stood by him all the widows, weeping and showing coats and garments which Dorcas made while she was with them.

Acts 9:40 (show verse)

But Peter, having put them all forth, and bowing his knees, prayed; and, turning to the body, he said, "Tabitha, arise!" And she opened her eyes; and, seeing Peter, she sat up.

Acts 9:41 (show verse)

And, having given her his hand, he raised her up; and, calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.

Acts 9:42 (show verse)

And it became known throughout all Joppa; and many believed on the Lord.

Acts 9:43 (show verse)

And it came to pass that he abode many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.
