But if the unbelieving consort actually leaves, let the separation stand. In such cases the Christian husband or wife is not morally bound; God has called us to live in peace.

You married women, in the same way, must be submissive to your husbands, so that, if any of them do not believe the message, they may be won over without a word through the living of the wives,

And some Pharisees came up to Him, to try Him out with the question, "Is it right for a man to divorce his wife for any cause?" He answered them, "It was because of your moral perversity that Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but it was not so from the beginning. I tell you, whoever divorces his wife for any other cause than her unfaithfulness, and marries another woman, commits adultery."

But I tell you that whoever divorces his wife for any other ground than unfaithfulness, causes her to commit adultery, and whoever marries a wife who is thus divorced commits adultery.

Continue to remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them, and those who are being ill-treated, since you, too, are liable to similar physical punishment.

You husbands must continue to love your wives and stop being harsh with them.

You married women must continue to live in subordination to your husbands, as you do to the Lord,

You must stop letting any bad word pass your lips, but only words that are good for building up as the occasion demands, so that they will result in spiritual blessing to the hearers.

If anyone thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue, but deceives himself, his religious worship is worthless.

Out of the same mouth flow blessing and cursing! It ought not to be like this, my brothers.

You must remove all bitterness, rage, anger, loud threats, and insults, with all malice.
