Every one who puts away his wife and marries another commits adultery; and every one that marries one put away from a husband commits adultery.
For the married woman is bound by law to her husband so long as he is alive; but if the husband should die, she is clear from the law of the husband:

And a woman who has an unbelieving husband, and he consents to dwell with her, let her not leave her husband. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified in the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified in the brother; since otherwise indeed your children are unclean, but now they are holy. Thou shalt not commit adultery.

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and cleave to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.

Whoso committeth adultery with a woman is void of understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.

It is universally reported that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not even among the nations, so that one should have his father's wife.

Defraud not one another, unless, it may be, by consent for a time, that ye may devote yourselves to prayer, and again be together, that Satan tempt you not because of your incontinency.
God therefore, having overlooked the times of ignorance, now enjoins men that they shall all everywhere repent,
in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who know not God, and those who do not obey the glad tidings of our Lord Jesus Christ;
