Jesus answered them, "I tell you the solemn truth, everyone who practices sin is a slave of sin.
and they will come to their senses and escape the devil's trap where they are held captive to do his will.
Although these false teachers promise such people freedom, they themselves are enslaved to immorality. For whatever a person succumbs to, to that he is enslaved.
and every arrogant obstacle that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to make it obey Christ.

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and the regaining of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed,
Now this matter arose because of the false brothers with false pretenses who slipped in unnoticed to spy on our freedom that we have in Christ Jesus, to make us slaves. But we did not surrender to them even for a moment, in order that the truth of the gospel would remain with you.
For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be subject again to the yoke of slavery.
Therefore it says, "When he ascended on high he captured captives; he gave gifts to men."
You ascend on high, you have taken many captives. You receive tribute from men, including even sinful rebels. Indeed the Lord God lives there!
