8 Bible Verses about Church Discipline

Sufficient for such an one is this punishment inflicted by many. So that on the contrary ye should rather forgive and comfort him, lest such an one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow. I beseech you therefore to confirm your love toward him.

These things speak and exhort, and rebuke with all authority: let no man despise thee.

And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.

I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, that thou canst not bear evil men; and thou hast tried those who say they are apostles and are not, and hast found them liars: And hast patience,

But if thy brother shall sin against thee, go and tell him his fault, between thee and him alone: if he will hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. But if he will not hear, take with thee one or two more, that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he will not hear them, tell it to the church; but if he will not hear the church, let him be to thee as an heathen and a publican.

This witness is true; therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in any fault, ye who are spiritual restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

(But them that are without God will judge:) And ye will take away from among yourselves that wicked person.
