Some time later, she asked him, "How can you keep saying "I love you!' when your heart isn't with me? These three times you've lied to me and haven't told me where your great strength lies."
Jesus told him, "I tell you with certainty, before a rooster crows this very night, you will deny me three times."

Jesus answered him, "Would you lay down your life for me? I tell you emphatically, a rooster will not crow until you have denied me three times."
But Jesus said, "I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you deny three times that you know me."
Jesus told him, "Take care of my sheep." He asked him a third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter was deeply hurt that he had asked him a third time, "Do you love me?" So he told him, "Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you!"
After leaving them again, he went away and prayed again for the third time, saying the same thing.
