But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.

Then he saith to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands, and reach forth thy hand, and put it into my side; and be not faithless, but believing. Thomas answered and said to him, My Lord and my God!
Jesus saith to him, Because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed; blessed are they who have not seen, and yet have believed.
while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are but for a time; but the things which are not seen are ever lasting.
Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, a conviction of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we perceive that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that that which is seen hath not been made out of things which appear.
These all died in faith, not having received the promised blessings, but having seen them from afar, and greeted them, and having professed that they were strangers and sojourners on the earth. For they who say such things show plainly that they are seeking a country.

So also faith, if it hath not works, is dead in itself. But some one will say, Thou hast faith, and I have works; show me thy faith without works, and I will show thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that God is one; thou doest well; the demons also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is idle? Was not Abraham our father accepted as righteous through works, when he offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Thou seest that faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect. And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, "Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him for righteousness;" and he was called the friend of God. Ye see that by works a man is accounted as righteous, and not by faith only. And in like manner was not also Rahab the harlot accounted as righteous through works, when she received the messengers, and sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
But if I am even poured out on the sacrifice and ministration of your faith, I rejoice, and rejoice with you all.
remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love, and perseverance in the hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before God our Father;
Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Christ Jesus, for the faith of Gods elect, and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, if it abide not in the vine, so neither can ye, unless ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit; for apart from me ye can do nothing.
