And God said, "Let the waters under heaven be gathered to one place, and let the dry ground appear." And it was so. And God called the dry ground "earth," and he called the collection of the waters "seas." And God saw that [it was] good.
In the six hundredth year of the life of Noah, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month--on that day all the springs of the great deep were split open, and the windows of heaven were opened.
[As for the] earth, from it comes food, but underneath it, it is turned up as [by] fire. Its stones [are the] place of sapphire, and [the] earthen dirt {has} gold.
He established [the] earth on her foundations, [so that] it will not be moved forever and ever. You covered it with [the] deep as with a garment. [The] waters stood above [the] mountains. At your rebuke they fled; at the sound of your thunder they ran off.read more.
They ascended [the] mountains [and] drained though the valleys to [the] place that you established for them. You set a boundary that they may not cross over, [so that] they would not return to cover the earth. [You are] the one who sends forth springs into the valleys; they flow between [the] mountains. They give drink for every beast of [the] field. [The] wild donkeys {quench} their thirst. Along them the birds of the heavens abide. From among [the] branches they {sing}. [You are the one who] {waters} [the] mountains from his upper chambers. The earth is full with the fruit of your labors:
All the streams flow to the sea, but the sea is never full; to the place where the streams flow, there they continue to flow.
I tell you that in that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left. There will be two [women] grinding at the same [place]; one will be taken and the other will be left."
By faith we understand the worlds were created by the word of God, in order that what is seen did not come into existence from what is visible.
