By this perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Do you thus repay the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he your father that has bought you? has he not made you, and established you?

Neither is worshiped with men's hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he gives to all life, and breath, and all things;
For who makes you to differ from another? and what have you that you did not receive? now if you did receive it, why do you glory, as if you had not received it?
Charge them that are rich in this present age, that they be not haughty, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy;
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And this they did, not as we expected, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.
I beseech you, brethren, (you know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)
I speak after the manner of men because of the weakness of your flesh: for as you have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, since you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
Therefore, if food makes my brother to stumble, I will eat no meat while the world stands, lest I make my brother to stumble.
Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you, though the more abundantly I love you, the less I am loved.
Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but rubbish, that I may win Christ,
Then Nebuchadnezzar spoke, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.
But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
Then Paul answered, What mean you to weep and to break my heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto death.
He that finds his life shall lose it: and he that loses his life for my sake shall find it.
Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed you; what shall we have therefore? And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That you who have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit on the throne of his glory, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone that has forsaken houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed you. And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, But he shall receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed you. And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that has left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake, Who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
Whoever offers praise glorifies me: and to him that orders his conduct aright will I show the salvation of God.
Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.
Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not fitting: but rather giving of thanks.
Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.read more.
And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you are called in one body; and be thankful.
Therefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
