You did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you will ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest indeed is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore that the Lord of the harvest will send out laborers into his harvest."
Now after these things, the Lord also appointed seventy-two others, and sent them two by two ahead of him into every city and place, where he was about to come. Then he said to them, "The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he may send out laborers into his harvest. Go your way. Look, I send you out as lambs among wolves.
He who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit to eternal life; that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. For in this the saying is true, 'One sows, and another reaps.' I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor."
He called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.
And he called to himself his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every sickness.
Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.
And he called to himself the twelve, and began to send them out two by two; and he gave them authority over the unclean spirits.
These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new languages; they will pick up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not harm them;[note: see Wallace, Exegetical Syntax, 403?6, whether promise or prediction] they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."
The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name." He said to them, "I saw Satan having fallen like lightning from heaven. Look, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will in any way hurt you.
Jesus therefore said to them again, "Peace be to you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you."
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth."
And look, I send forth the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city until you are clothed with power from on high."
When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were gathered together. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders, by various works of power, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will?
Therefore go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. And look, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Then those who received his word were baptized. There were added that day about three thousand souls. They continued steadfastly in the apostles' teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer.
"Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to the living God, who made the sky and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them;
A certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, one who worshiped God, heard us; whose heart the Lord opened to listen to the things which were spoken by Paul. When she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying, "If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and stay." So she persuaded us.
Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord with all his house. Many of the Corinthians, when they heard, believed and were baptized.
How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a proclaimer? And how will they proclaim unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things."
(and the life was revealed, and we have seen, and testify, and declare to you the life, the eternal life, which was with the Father, and was revealed to us); that which we have seen and heard we declare to you also, that you also may have fellowship with us. Yes, and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
And as you go, proclaim, saying, 'The Kingdom of Heaven is near.' Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give.
They went out, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word by the signs that followed.
They departed, and went throughout the villages, proclaiming the Good News, and healing everywhere.
But I make my life an account of nothing precious to myself, so that I may finish my race, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify to the Good News of the grace of God.
But Philip was found at Azotus. Passing through, he preached the Good News to all the cities, until he came to Caesarea.
For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the Good News of his Son, how unceasingly I make mention of you
yes, making it my aim to proclaim the Good News, not where Christ was already named, that I might not build on another's foundation.
The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you killed, hanging him on a tree. God exalted him with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins. We are witnesses of these things; and so also is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him."

having good behavior among the nations, so in that of which they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they see, glorify God in the day of visitation.
and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.
He said to them, "Go into all the world, and proclaim the Good News to the whole creation.
Jesus sent these twelve out, and commanded them, saying, "Do not go among the Gentiles, and do not enter into any city of the Samaritans. Rather, go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Do not take any gold, nor silver, nor brass in your money belts. Take no bag for your journey, neither two coats, nor shoes, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food. And into whatever city or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy; and stay there until you go on.read more.
And as you enter into the household, greet it. And if the household is worthy, let your peace come on it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. And whoever does not receive you, nor hear your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake off the dust from your feet. Truly I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.
And he commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, except a staff only: no bread, no wallet, no money in their purse, but to wear sandals, and not to put on two tunics. And he said to them, "Wherever you enter into a house, stay there until you depart from there.read more.
Whoever will not receive you nor hear you, as you depart from there, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony against them."
He said to them, "Take nothing for your journey?neither staffs, nor wallet, nor bread, nor money; neither have two coats apiece. Into whatever house you enter, stay there, and depart from there. As many as do not receive you, when you depart from that city, shake off even the dust from your feet for a testimony against them."
Carry no purse, nor wallet, nor sandals. Greet no one on the way. Into whatever house you enter, first say, 'Peace be to this house.' If a peaceful person is there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you.read more.
Remain in that same house, eating and drinking the things they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not go from house to house. Into whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat the things that are set before you. Heal the sick who are therein, and tell them, 'The Kingdom of God has come near to you.' But into whatever city you enter, and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say, 'Even the dust from your city that clings to our feet, we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the Kingdom of God is near.' I tell you, it will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city.
They therefore who were scattered abroad by the oppression that arose about Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except to Jews only.
Therefore those who were scattered abroad went around proclaiming the word. Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and proclaimed to them the Messiah. The crowds listened with one accord to the things that were spoken by Philip, when they heard and saw the signs which he did.read more.
For unclean spirits came out of many of those who had them. They came out, crying with a loud voice. Many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed. There was great joy in that city.

And Peter opened his mouth and said, "Truly I perceive that God does not show favoritism; but in every nation he who fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.
But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, proclaiming the Lord Jesus. The hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.
Now in the church that was at Antioch there were some prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen the foster brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. As they served the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, "Separate Barnabas and Saul for me, for the work to which I have called them." Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
but Paul chose Silas, and went out, being commended by the brothers to the grace of the Lord. He went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.
