Only fear Yahweh and serve him faithfully with all of your heart. For consider {what great things he has done for you}.

"So now, revere Yahweh and serve him in sincerity and faithfulness; remove the gods that your ancestors served beyond the river and in Egypt, and serve Yahweh.

"Domination and dread [are] with him who makes peace in his high heavens.

[As for] Shaddai, we cannot attain him; [he is] exalted [in] power, and he does not oppress justice and abundant righteousness. Therefore people revered him; he does not regard any {who think that they are wise}."

And I will {make} with them {an everlasting covenant} that I will not turn away from them, my doing good [to] them, and my reverence I will put in their hearts so that [they will] not turn aside from me. And I will rejoice over them to do good [to] them, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness with all my heart, and with all my inner self."

"My covenant with him was [one of] life and peace, and I gave them to him. [This required] reverence, and he revered me and stood in awe {before} my name.

"You shall fear Yahweh your God, and you shall serve him, and by his name you shall swear. You shall not go after other gods from the gods of the peoples who [are] all around you,

Yahweh your God, you shall revere him, you shall serve him, and to him you shall cling, and by his name you shall swear. He [is] your praise, and he [is] your God, who has done with you these great and awesome [things] that your eyes have seen.

So Samuel called out to Yahweh, and Yahweh brought thunder and rain that [same] day, so all the people feared Yahweh and Samuel greatly.

For Yahweh [is] great and greatly praised, and he is feared among all gods.

Let all the earth fear Yahweh. Let all [the] inhabitants of [the] world stand in awe of him. For {he himself spoke} and it came to pass. {He himself commanded} and it stood firm.

Do you not revere me?" {declares} Yahweh, "Do you not tremble {before me}? For I have placed [the] sand [as] a boundary for the sea, {as an everlasting limit}, and it cannot pass over it, and they rise and fall loudly, but they cannot prevail, and its waves roar, but they cannot pass over it. But for this people is a stubborn and rebellious heart, they have turned aside and have gone [away]. And they do not say in their hearts, 'Let us fear please Yahweh our God, the [one who] gives [the] autumn rain and [the] spring rain in its season, {the set times of the harvest} he keeps for us.'

O Yahweh, I have heard the report of you; O Yahweh, I stand in awe of your works. In the midst of the years, revive it! In the midst of the years, make [it] known! In wrath, may you remember to show compassion.

Now to the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, to the only God, [be] honor and glory {forever and ever}. Amen.

the [one who] alone possesses immortality, who lives [in] unapproachable light, whom no human being has seen nor is able to see, to whom [be] honor and eternal power. Amen.

But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise, with healing in its wings, and you will go out and leap like {fattened calves}.

So they shall fear the name of Yahweh from [the] west, and his glory from the sunrise, for he will come like narrow stream; the wind of Yahweh drives it on.

"Cursed is the one who cheats, who has in his flock a male and vows [it], but [instead] sacrifices a blemished one to the Lord! For I [am] a great king," says Yahweh of hosts, "and my name [is] awesome among the nations."

And the nations were angry, and your wrath has come, and the time for the dead to be judged, and to give their reward to your slaves the prophets and to the saints and to the ones who fear your name, the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth."

You shall regard Yahweh of hosts as holy, and he [is] your fear, and he [is] your dread.

For Yahweh [is] great and very worthy of praise; he [is to be] feared above all gods.

For when he sees his children, the work of my hands, in his midst, they will treat my name as holy, and they will treat the holy one of Jacob as holy, and they will stand in awe [of] the God of Israel.

Who would not revere you, O king of the nations? For you it is fitting. For among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like you.

Who would never fear, Lord, and glorify your name? For only you [are] holy, because all the nations will come and worship before you, because your righteous deeds have been revealed."

And my hand has made all these [things], and all these {came to be}," {declares} Yahweh, "but I look to this [one]: to [the] humble and [the] contrite of spirit and [the one] frightened at my word.

[Remember] the day that you stood {before} Yahweh your God at Horeb {when Yahweh said to me}, 'Summon for me the people so that I can tell them my words, that they may learn to fear me all [of] the days they [are] alive on the earth and so [that] they may teach their children.' And [so] you came near, and you stood under the mountain, and the mountain [was] burning with fire up to the heart of the heaven, {dark with a very thick cloud}.

Then all who trembled at the words of the God of Israel because of the sin of the returned exiles were gathered around me and I sat appalled until the evening offering.

So now let us make a covenant with our God to send away all of these women and their offspring, according to the advice of my lord and those who tremble at the commandment of our God. Let it be done according to the law.

And Israel saw the great hand that Yahweh displayed against Egypt, and the people feared Yahweh, and they believed in Yahweh and in Moses his servant.

And then all men will fear, and will declare the working of God, and will understand his doing.

{But as for me}, through the abundance of your steadfast love I will enter your house. I will bow down toward {your holy temple} in awe [of] you.

You who revere Yahweh, praise him! Glorify him, all [you] seed of Jacob, and be in awe of him, all [you] seed of Israel,

But with you [is] forgiveness, so that you may be feared."

But [when] the crowds saw [this], they were afraid and glorified God who had given such authority to men.

And he got up and immediately picked up his stretcher [and] went out in front of [them] all, so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, "We have never seen [anything] like this!"

And amazement seized [them] all, and they began to glorify God. And they were filled with fear, saying, "We have seen wonderful things today!"

A lion has roared! Who is not afraid? My Lord Yahweh has spoken, who will not prophesy?

So the men feared Yahweh {greatly}, and they offered a sacrifice to Yahweh and {made} vows.

saying with a loud voice, "Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship the one who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and the springs of water!"

You shall not go after other gods from the gods of the peoples who [are] all around you, for Yahweh your God [is] a jealous god in your midst, {so that the anger of Yahweh your God would be kindled}, and he would destroy you from the face of the earth.

Serve Yahweh with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son lest he be angry and you perish [on the] way, for his anger burns quickly. Blessed are all [who] take refuge in him.

{You, indeed, are to be feared}, and who can stand before you when you [are] angry?

God will bless us, and all [the] ends of [the] earth will fear him.

so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of Yahweh [is] strong, so that you may fear Yahweh your God {forever}."

you shall hear in heaven, the place of your dwelling, and act according to all that the foreigner calls to you, so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name, to fear you as your people Israel, and to know that your name has been invoked over this house that I have built.

then may you yourself hear from the heavens, from your dwelling place, and do according to all that the foreigner asks of you, so that all peoples of earth will know of your name and fear you, as [do] your people Israel, and that they may know that your name {possesses} this house that I have built.

And the fear of God came upon all the kingdoms of the earth when they heard that Yahweh had fought against the enemies of Israel.

Make vows and fulfill them to Yahweh, your God; let all surrounding him bring tribute to the [one to be] feared. He cuts off [the] spirit of leaders. [He is to be] feared by [the] kings of [the] earth.

Then [the] nations will fear the name of Yahweh, and all the kings of the earth your glory.

And it will be to me a name of jubilation, a praise, and a glory before all the nations of the earth, who will hear all the good that I [will] do [for] them, and they will fear, and they will tremble because of all the good, and because of all the prosperity that I [will] provide for it.'

And Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid. God has come to test you so that his fear will be before you so that you do not sin."

Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, "Surely Yahweh {is indeed} in this place and I did not know!" Then he was afraid and said, "How awesome [is] this place! {This is nothing else than the house of God}, and this is the gate of heaven!"

Serve Yahweh with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

Then the church throughout all of Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace, being strengthened. And living in the fear of the Lord and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, it was increasing [in numbers].

God, whose word I praise, God I trust; I do not fear. What can [mere] flesh do to me?

"And I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after these [things] do not have anything more to do. But I will show you whom you should fear: fear the one who has authority, after the killing, to throw [you] into hell! Yes, I tell you, fear this one!

But even if you might suffer for the sake of righteousness, [you are] blessed. And do not be afraid of their intimidation or be disturbed, but set Christ apart [as] Lord in your hearts, always ready to [make] a defense to anyone who asks you [for] an accounting concerning the hope [that is] in you.
