They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, they were tempted, they were slain with the sword: they went about in. sheep-skins, in goat-skins, being destitute, afflicted, oppressed with evils, (of whom the world was not worthy,) wandering in deserts, and in mountains, and in caverns, and in dens of the earth. And all these, having obtained a good reputation by faith, received not the promise, because God had provided some better thing for us, that they, without us, should not be made perfect.

Romans 4:12

and the father of circumcision to those who are not only circumcised, but who, also, walk in the steps of that faith which our father Abraham had while he was yet uncircumcised.
