Ziba said to the king, “Your servant will do all my lord the king commands.”So Mephibosheth ate at David’s table just like one of the king’s sons.

However, Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem because he always ate at the king’s table. His feet had been injured.

And David invited him, and he ate and drank before him; and he made him drunk. And in the evening he went out to lie on his couch with the servants of his lord, but did not go down to his house.

For all my father’s household was nothing but dead men before my lord the king; yet you set your servant among those who ate at your own table. What right do I have yet that I should complain anymore to the king?”
