'Away' in the Bible
Take me with you! Let's run away! Let the king bring me into his private chambers. The daughters of Jerusalem will rejoice and be happy for you. We will value your love more than wine. They love you appropriately.
My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
For now the winter is past;the rain has ended and gone away.
The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.
Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether.
Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, I will get me to the mountain of myrrh, and to the hill of frankincense.
“Come away with me from Lebanon, my [promised] bride,May you come with me from Lebanon.Journey down from the top of Amana,From the summit of Senir and Hermon,From the dens of lions,From the mountains of leopards.
You have taken away my heart, my sister, my bride; you have taken away my heart, with one look you have taken it, with one chain of your neck!
(The Bridegroom)“I have come into my garden, my sister, my [promised] bride;I have gathered my myrrh along with my balsam and spice [from your sweet words].I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey;I have drunk my wine with my milk.Eat, friends;Drink and drink deeply, O lovers.”
I opened to my love, but my love had turned and gone away.I was crushed that he had left.I sought him, but did not find him.I called him, but he did not answer.
The watchmen that went about the city found me, they smote me, they wounded me; the keepers of the walls took away my veil from me.
Where is your loved one gone, O most fair among women? Where is your loved one turned away, that we may go looking for him with you?
Turn away thine eyes from me, for they have overcome me: thy hair is as a flock of goats that appear from Gilead.
Mighty waters cannot extinguish love;rivers cannot sweep it away.If a man were to give all his wealth for love,it would be utterly scorned.
Come away, my beloved! Be like a gazelle or a young stag on the mountains of spices!
