'Farmers' in the Bible
But the commander of the guards left some of the poorest of the land to be vinedressers and farmers.
Ezri, the son of Chelub, had authority over the field-workers and farmers;
Since he had many cattle both in the Judean foothills and the plain, he built towers in the desert and dug many wells. And since he was a lover of the soil, he had farmers and vinedressers in the hills and in the fertile lands.

But some of the poorest people of the land Nebuzaradan, the commander of the guards, left to be vinedressers and farmers.
Be ashamed, you farmers,wail, you vinedressers,over the wheat and the barley,because the harvest of the field has perished.
Therefore, thus says the Lord God of hosts, the Lord,“There is wailing in all the public plazas,And in all the streets they say, ‘Alas! Alas!’And they call the farmers to mourning [for those who have died]And professional mourners to wailing.
