'Insight' in the Bible
These proverbs are for gaining wisdom and discipline; for understanding words of insight;
furthermore, if you call out to insightand lift your voice to understanding,
Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heartAnd do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
Children, listen [to the] instruction of a father, and be attentive [in order] to know insight.
Get wisdom and insight; do not forget and do not turn from the sayings of my mouth.
The beginning of wisdom: Get wisdom! With all [that is in] your possession, gain insight.
I have instructed you in the way of [skillful and godly] wisdom;I have led you in upright paths.
My son, pay attention to my wisdom, and listen closely to my insight,
Say to [skillful and godly] wisdom, “You are my sister,”And regard understanding and intelligent insight as your intimate friends;
“Leave [behind] your foolishness [and the foolish] and live,And walk in the way of insight and understanding.”
The [reverent] fear of the Lord [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of wisdom [its starting point and its essence],And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding and spiritual insight.
A man is praised for his insight,but a twisted mind is despised.
Keen insight wins favor, but the conduct of the unfaithful is harsh.
The wisdom of the sensible is to understand his way,But the foolishness of [shortsighted] fools is deceit.
The path of life [leads] upward for him who has insight, in order to turn away from Sheol below.
Insight is a fountain of life for its possessor,but the discipline of fools is folly.
A person’s insight gives him patience,and his virtue is to overlook an offense.
No wisdom, insight, or counsel can prevail against the LORD.
Don’t speak to a fool,for he will despise the insight of your words.
