'Release' in the Bible
But Joseph her husband, being a kind-hearted man and unwilling publicly to disgrace her, had determined to release her privately from the betrothal.
Now [when it] was evening, the disciples came to him saying, "The place is desolate and the hour {is late}. Release the crowds so that they can go away into the villages [and] purchase food for themselves."
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven."
"I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven.
and the lord of that servant having been moved with compassion did release him, and the debt he forgave him.
Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would.

John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins [that is, requiring a change of one’s old way of thinking, turning away from sin and seeking God and His righteousness].
At the festival it was Pilate’s custom to release for the people a prisoner they requested.
Then the crowd came up and began to ask Pilate to release a prisoner for them, as was his custom.
But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews?
But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them.
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me; he has anointed me to tell the good news to the poor. He has sent me to announce release to the prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, to set oppressed people free,
'And judge not, and ye may not be judged; condemn not, and ye may not be condemned; release, and ye shall be released.
“When the unclean spirit comes out of a person, it roams through waterless places in search [of a place] of rest; and not finding any, it says, ‘I will go back to my house (person) from which I came.’
I will therefore chastise him, and release him.
(For of necessity he must release one unto them at the feast.)
And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas:
Pilate therefore, willing to release Jesus, spake again to them.
A third time he said to them, “Why? What has this man done wrong? I have found in Him no grounds for the death penalty. Therefore, I will have Him whipped and then release Him.”
So he released the man who had been put in prison for revolt and murder the man whose release they continued to demand but he let them have their way with Jesus.
But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?
Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?
And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar's friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.
And Peter said to them, “Repent [change your old way of thinking, turn from your sinful ways, accept and follow Jesus as the Messiah] and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ because of the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you handed over and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him.
Yes, you disowned the holy and righteous One, and asked as a favour the release of a murderer.

After they examined me, they wanted to release me, since I had not committed a capital offense.

In fact under the Law almost everything is cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness [neither release from sin and its guilt, nor cancellation of the merited punishment].
Women received their dead—they were raised to life again. Some men were tortured, not accepting release, so that they might gain a better resurrection,
say to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels bound at the great river Euphrates.”
