'Ruin' in the Bible

Their wealth will become plunderand their houses a ruin.They will build houses but never live in them,plant vineyards but never drink their wine.

That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of ruin and desolation, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and gross darkness,

For Gaza will be abandoned,and Ashkelon will become a ruin.Ashdod will be driven out at noon,and Ekron will be uprooted.

He will also stretch out His hand against the northand destroy Assyria;He will make Nineveh a desolate ruin,dry as the desert.

Flocks will lie down in her midst, along with animals of every kind. Desert owls and screeching owls will nest at the top of the pillars, hooting through the vacant windows, "Ruin sits at these doorsills,' for he will expose even the cedar framework.
