'Subject' in the Bible

“You have heard that it was said to our ancestors, Do not murder, and whoever murders will be subject to judgment.

For I also am a man subject to authority [of a higher rank], with soldiers subject to me; and I say to one, ‘Go!’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes, and to my slave, ‘Do this!’ and he does it.”

And he was speaking openly [about] the subject, and Peter took him aside [and] began to rebuke him.

"What is the subject you are discussing?" He asked them.

In the house the disciples began questioning Him again about this.

For the law appoints as high priests men subject to weakness, but the word of solemn affirmation that came after the law appoints a son made perfect forever.

Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

He speaks about this subject in all his letters. Some things in them are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, leading to their own destruction, as they do the rest of the Scriptures.
