'Suffer' in the Bible
And Jehovah will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he sees the blood on the lintel, and on the two door-posts, Jehovah will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come into your houses to smite you.
thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.
And every offering of thine oblation shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thine oblation: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.

for I will shew to him how much he must suffer for my name.
Wherefore also he says in another, Thou wilt not suffer thy gracious one to see corruption.
namely, whether Christ should suffer; whether he first, through resurrection of the dead, should announce light both to the people and to the nations.
And if children, heirs also: heirs of God, and Christ's joint heirs; if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.
If the work of any one shall be consumed, he shall suffer loss, but he shall be saved, but so as through the fire.

And men of the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations see their body three days and a half, and they do not suffer their bodies to be put into a sepulchre.
