'Circumstances' in the Bible

After this, Jesus again showed Himself to the disciples. It was at the Lake of Tiberias. The circumstances were as follows.

And God gave Abraham a covenant [a formal agreement to be strictly observed] of [which] circumcision [was the sign]; and so [under these circumstances] Abraham became the father of Isaac, and circumcised him on the eighth day; and Isaac [became the father] of Jacob, and Jacob [became the father] of the twelve patriarchs.

“I was traveling to Damascus under these circumstances with authority and a commission from the chief priests.

Under what circumstances was it credited? Was he circumcised or uncircumcised? He had not yet been circumcised, but was uncircumcised.

Hoping in spite of hopeless circumstances, he believed that he would become "the father of many nations," just as he had been told: "This is how many descendants you will have."

And not only that, but this too: Rebekah conceived twin sons by one man [under the same circumstances], by our father Isaac;

I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know our circumstances and that he may encourage your hearts.

But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, so that I also may be encouraged [when I] know {your circumstances}.

For I have no one like-minded who [will] sincerely be concerned about {your circumstances}.

Therefore I hope to send him at once, as soon as I see {my circumstances}.

I know both how to have a little, and I know how to have a lot. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being content—whether well fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need.

Tychicus, my dear brother and faithful servant and fellow slave in the Lord, will make known to you all {my circumstances},

For I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know about our circumstances and that he may encourage your hearts;

together with Onesimus, my faithful and dear brother, who is [one] of you. They will make known to you all {the circumstances} here.

Now may the Lord of peace Himself grant you His peace at all times and in every way [that peace and spiritual well-being that comes to those who walk with Him, regardless of life’s circumstances]. The Lord be with you all.

The brother of humble circumstances should boast in his exaltation,

They inquired into what time or what circumstances the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating when He testified in advance to the messianic sufferings and the glories that would follow.
