'Wise' in the Bible
The wise sayings of Solomon, the son of David, king of Israel.
To learn wisdom and moral instruction, and to discern wise counsel.
for receiving wise instructionin righteousness, justice, and integrity;
A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
Wise purposes will be watching over you, and knowledge will keep you;
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
My son, keep good sense, and do not let wise purpose go from your eyes.
The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.
That you may exercise discrimination and discretion (good judgment),And your lips may reserve knowledge and answer wisely [to temptation].
Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
I, wisdom, have made wise behaviour my near relation; I am seen to be the special friend of wise purposes.
Wise design and good sense are mine; reason and strength are mine.
Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
The fear of the Lord is the start of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One gives a wise mind
If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.
He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.
The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.
Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.
In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
He who has a poor opinion of his neighbour has no sense, but a wise man keeps quiet.
Where no wise guidance is, the people falleth; But in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.
He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.
A man is praised because of his wise words, but the perverted mind will be despised.
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.
A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.
Arrogance only brings quarreling, but those receiving advice are wise.
The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
Wise behaviour gets approval, but the way of the false is their destruction.
He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.
In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
Leave the presence of a foolish person, or you will not understand wise counsel.
A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.
The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.
Wisdom has her resting-place in the mind of the wise, but she is not seen among the foolish.
The king's favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.
The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.
A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.
A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
Where there are no wise suggestions, purposes come to nothing; but by a number of wise guides they are made certain.
The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.
The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.
The fear of the Lord provides wise instruction, and before honor comes humility.
The plans and reflections of the heart belong to man,But the [wise] answer of the tongue is from the Lord.

He who [willfully] separates himself [from God and man] seeks his own desire,He quarrels against all sound wisdom.
The words of a man’s mouth are like deep waters [copious and difficult to fathom];The fountain of [mature, godly] wisdom is like a bubbling stream [sparkling, fresh, pure, and life-giving].
The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.
House and wealth are the inheritance from fathers,But a wise, understanding, and sensible wife is [a gift and blessing] from the Lord.
Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
When blows overtake the man of pride, the simple will get sense; say sharp words to the wise, and knowledge will be made clear to him.
Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
Prepare plans by consultation,And make war by wise guidance.
A wise king scattereth the wicked, and bringeth the wheel over them.
When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.
There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.

Wisdom and knowledge and wise suggestions are of no use against the Lord.

Don't speak when a fool is listening, because he'll despise your wise words.
My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine.
Hear thou, my son, and be wise, and guide thine heart in the way.
The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him.
A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.
For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellers there is safety.
These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.
These are more wise sayings of Solomon, copied out by the men of Hezekiah, king of Judah.
As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.
Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.
The legs of one who has no power of walking are hanging loose; so is a wise saying in the mouth of the foolish.
Like a thorn which goes up into the hand of a man overcome by drink, so is a wise saying in the mouth of a foolish man.
Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
Oil and perfume make glad the heart, and the wise suggestion of a friend is sweet to the soul.
My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproacheth me.
Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father.
The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.
Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.
If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.
A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
Many seek the ruler’s favor,But justice for man comes from the Lord.
