'Worthy' in the Bible

A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.

The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.

And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.

For it was fitting for God [that is, an act worthy of His divine nature] that He, for whose sake are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the author and founder of their salvation perfect through suffering [bringing to maturity the human experience necessary for Him to be perfectly equipped for His office as High Priest].

Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?

but if anyone suffers [ill-treatment] as a Christian [because of his belief], he is not to be ashamed, but is to glorify God [because he is considered worthy to suffer] in this name.

They have testified to your love in front of the church. You will do well to send them on their journey in a manner worthy of God,

And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

Then he said to me, “These words are faithful and true.” And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent His angel [as a representative] to show His bond-servants the things that must soon take place.
