'Lifts' in the Bible
“Behold, a people rises like a lioness,And as a lion it lifts itself;It will not lie down until it devours the prey,And drinks the blood of the slain.”
He watches over His nest like an eagleand hovers over His young;He spreads His wings, catches him,and lifts him up on His pinions.
“The Lord makes poor and makes rich;He brings low and He lifts up.
He raises the poor from the dustand lifts the needy from the garbage pile.He seats them with noblemenand gives them a throne of honor.For the foundations of the earth are the Lord’s;He has set the world on them.
You say, ‘See, I have struck down and defeated Edom.’ Your heart lifts you up to boast [about your victory]. Now stay at home; why should you meddle and court disaster so that you, even you, will fall and Judah with you?”
He sets the lowly on high, and lifts those who mourn to safety.
“When you are cast down and humbled, you will speak with confidence,And the humble person He will lift up and save.
“The east wind lifts him up, and he is gone;It sweeps him out of his place.
“When she lifts herself on high,She laughs at the horse and his rider.
But You, Lord, are a shield around me,my glory, and the One who lifts up my head.
Nations rage, kingdoms topple;the earth melts when He lifts His voice.
But God is the Judge;He puts down one and lifts up another.
For He spoke and raised up a stormy wind,Which lifted up the waves of the sea.
But He lifts the needy out of their sufferingand makes their families multiply like flocks.
From the stream along the road he drinks; then he lifts up his head.

The Lord supports all who fall, and lifts up all who are bent over.
the LORD gives sight to the blind. The LORD lifts up those who are weighed down. The LORD loves the righteous.
The Lord protects those residing outside their native land; he lifts up the fatherless and the widow, but he opposes the wicked.
The Lord lifts up the oppressed, but knocks the wicked to the ground.
Wisdom shouts in the street,She lifts her voice in the square;
So the Lord is furious with his people; he lifts his hand and strikes them. The mountains shake, and corpses lie like manure in the middle of the streets. Despite all this, his anger does not subside, and his hand is ready to strike again.
He lifts a signal flag for a distant nation, he whistles for it to come from the far regions of the earth. Look, they come quickly and swiftly.
Does the ax boast against the one who cuts with it, or the saw magnify itself against [the] one who moves it to and fro? {As if a rod should move the one who lifts it}! {As if a staff should lift up that which is not wood}!
Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts, “O My people who dwell in Zion, do not fear the Assyrian who strikes you with the rod and lifts up his staff against you, the way Egypt did.
Therefore the Lord waits [expectantly] and longs to be gracious to you,And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you.For the Lord is a God of justice;Blessed (happy, fortunate) are all those who long for Him [since He will never fail them].
Look, the nations are like a drop in a bucket;they are considered as a speck of dust in the scales;He lifts up the islands like fine dust.
"You are to prophesy all these things against them, and you are to say to them, "The LORD roars from his high place, from his holy dwelling he lifts his voice. He roars loudly against his flock, and against all who live on the earth; he shouts like those treading grapes.

oppresses the poor and needy, commits robbery, does not restore a pledge, but lifts up his eyes to the idols and commits abomination,
I led them with cords of a man, with bonds of love,And I became to them as one who lifts the yoke from their jaws;And I bent down and fed them.
And [if] one's relative, who burns [the body], lifts it up and brings the body out of the house and he will say to someone in the innermost part of the house, "[Are there] any more with you?" and he will say, "None," then he will say, "Silence," because [we] must not invoke the name of Yahweh.

so that I may attain to the resurrection [that will raise me] from the dead.
