'Victim' in the Bible
"Whoever kidnaps a person, whether he has sold him or whether the victim is still in his possession, is certainly to be put to death.
He shall lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering [transferring symbolically his guilt to the sacrifice], that it may be accepted for him to make atonement on his behalf.
Next the priest shall offer the sin offering and make atonement for the one to be cleansed from his uncleanness, and afterward kill the burnt offering.
If the killer shoved his victim out of hatred, or hurled something at him while waiting in ambush so that he died,
“If a murder victim is found lying in a field in the land the Lord your God is giving you to possess, and it is not known who killed him,
your elders and judges must come out and measure the distance from the victim to the nearby cities.
The elders of the city nearest to the victim are to get a young cow that has not been yoked or used for work.
All the elders of the city nearest to the victim will wash their hands by the stream over the young cow whose neck has been broken.

The company of priests is like a gang of robbers, lying in ambush to pounce on a victim. They commit murder on the road to Shechem; they have done heinous crimes!
