The Promise Of The Spirit

³⁸ He that believes on me, as the scripture has said, from his inner self shall flow rivers of living water. ³⁹ But this he spoke of the Spirit, which those who believe on him were about to receive; for the Holy Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet been glorified. ⁴⁰ Therefore, many of the multitude, when they had heard this word, said: This is, in truth, the prophet.
