Even when I walk through a valley of deep darkness, I will not be afraid because you are with me. Your rod and your staff they comfort me.

For as the Messiah's sufferings overflow into us, so also our comfort overflows through the Messiah.

For the LORD will have compassion on Zion, have compassion on all her ruins. He will make her wilderness like Eden, and her deserts like the garden of the LORD. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving, and the sound of singing. Sorrow and sighing will flee away.
Like a child whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; and you will be comforted in Jerusalem.
But look! There will be a remnant who escapes, a few sons and daughters to be brought out. Look! They'll come out to you and you'll see how they've lived and what they've done, and you'll be comforted concerning the catastrophe that I brought on Jerusalem, including everything that I brought against her. For everything that was written long ago was written to instruct us, so that we might have hope through the endurance and encouragement that the Scriptures give us.
"Comfort! Yes, comfort my people," says your God. "Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her heavy service has been completed, that her penalty has been paid, that she has received from the LORD's hand double for all her sins."
But the person who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding, encouragement, and comfort.

At that time, you will say: "I will praise you, LORD, for although you were angry with me, your anger has turned away, and you have comforted me.
Shout with joy, you heavens, and rock with glee, you earth! Break out in song, you mountains! The LORD is comforting his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.

Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God, for once again I will praise him, since his presence saves me.
When my anxious inner thoughts become overwhelming, your comfort encourages me.
"Don't let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me.
Truly, I tell all of you emphatically, you'll cry and mourn, but the world will rejoice. You'll be deeply distressed, but your pain will turn into joy.
Though my father and my mother abandoned me, the LORD gathers me up.
As for my best friend, the one in whom I trusted, the one who ate my bread, even he has insulted me! But you, LORD, be gracious to me and raise me up so that I may pay them back! In this way I will know that you are pleased with me, and that my enemies will not shout in triumph over me.read more.
As for me, you will maintain my just cause, and you will cause me to stand in your presence forever.
"If the world hates you, you should realize that it hated me before you. If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as one of its own. But because you do not belong to the world and I have chosen you out of it, the world hates you.
The God of old is a dwelling place, with everlasting arms underneath. He drove out your enemies before you and said: "Destroy them!'
But you do see! You take note of trouble and grief in order to take the matter into your own hand. The helpless one commits himself to you; you have been the orphan's helper.
The LORD will uphold him even on his sickbed; you will transform his bed of illness into health.
The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. May the grace of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, be with all of you!
No temptation has overtaken you that is unusual for human beings. But God is faithful, and he will not allow you to be tempted beyond your strength. Instead, along with the temptation he will also provide a way out, so that you may be able to endure it.
but he has told me, "My grace is all you need, because my power is perfected in weakness." Therefore, I will most happily boast about my weaknesses, so that the Messiah's power may rest on me.
How blessed is the man who endures temptation! When he has passed the test, he will receive the victor's crown of life that God has promised to those who keep on loving him.
Therefore, submit yourselves to God. Resist the Devil, and he will run away from you.
then the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials and to hold unrighteous people for punishment on the day of judgment,
Don't be afraid of what you are going to suffer. Look! The Devil is going to throw some of you into prison so that you may be tested. For ten days you will undergo suffering. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the victor's crown of life.
