To the Overseer. -- 'On a disease.' -- An instruction, by David. A fool said in his heart, 'There is no God.' They have done corruptly, Yea, they have done abominable iniquity, There is none doing good.

and he walketh in all the sins of his father, that he did before him, and his heart hath not been perfect with Jehovah his God, as the heart of David his father;

and he doth the evil thing, for he hath not prepared his heart to seek Jehovah.

The folly of man perverteth his way, And against Jehovah is his heart wroth.

but I have known you, that the love of God ye have not in yourselves.

thou hast neither part nor lot in this thing, for thy heart is not right before God; reform, therefore, from this thy wickedness, and beseech God, if then the purpose of thy heart may be forgiven thee,

unintelligent, faithless, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful;

because the mind of the flesh is enmity to God, for to the law of God it doth not subject itself,

See, brethren, lest there shall be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in the falling away from the living God,

A heart devising thoughts of vanity -- Feet hasting to run to evil --

Who saith, 'I have purified my heart, I have been cleansed from my sin?'

Wherefore are ye stricken any more? Ye do add apostasy! Every head is become diseased, and every heart is sick.

but the things coming forth from the mouth from the heart do come forth, and these defile the man; for out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, whoredoms, thefts, false witnessings, evil speakings:

And he said -- 'That which is coming out from the man, that doth defile the man; for from within, out of the heart of men, the evil reasonings do come forth, adulteries, whoredoms, murders, thefts, covetous desires, wickedness, deceit, arrogance, an evil eye, evil speaking, pride, foolishness;read more.
all these evils do come forth from within, and they defile the man.'

An abomination to Jehovah are the perverse of heart, And the perfect of the way are His delight.

A perverse heart turneth aside from me, Wickedness I know not. Whoso slandereth in secret his neighbour, Him I cut off, The high of eyes and proud of heart, him I endure not.

An abomination to Jehovah is every proud one of heart, Hand to hand he is not acquitted.

The perverse of heart findeth not good, And the turned in his tongue falleth into evil.

And it hath come to pass, When the Lord doth fulfil all His work In mount Zion and in Jerusalem, I see concerning the fruit of the greatness Of the heart of the king of Asshur. And concerning the glory of the height of his eyes.

I Jehovah do search the heart, try the reins, Even to give to each according to his way, According to the fruit of his doings.

'And these are they, in like manner, who on the rocky ground are sown: who, whenever they may hear the word, immediately with joy do receive it, and have not root in themselves, but are temporary; afterward tribulation or persecution having come because of the word, immediately they are stumbled.

'And those upon the rock: They who, when they may hear, with joy do receive the word, and these have no root, who for a time believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

for it is impossible for those once enlightened, having tasted also of the heavenly gift, and partakers having became of the Holy Spirit, and did taste the good saying of God, the powers also of the coming age, and having fallen away, again to renew them to reformation, having crucified again to themselves the Son of God, and exposed to public shame.read more.
For earth, that is drinking in the rain many times coming upon it, and is bringing forth herbs fit for those because of whom also it is dressed, doth partake of blessing from God, and that which is bearing thorns and briers is disapproved of, and nigh to cursing, whose end is for burning;

For we -- wilfully sinning after the receiving the full knowledge of the truth -- no more for sins doth there remain a sacrifice, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment, and fiery zeal, about to devour the opposers; any one who did set at nought a law of Moses, apart from mercies, by two or three witnesses, doth die,read more.
of how much sorer punishment shall he be counted worthy who the Son of God did trample on, and the blood of the covenant did count a common thing, in which he was sanctified, and to the Spirit of the grace did despite?
