'May' in the Bible
To: Titus, a genuine child in the faith that we share. May grace and peace from God the Father and the Messiah, Jesus our Savior, be yours!
On account of this, I left you behind in Crete, in order that what remains may be set in order and you may appoint elders in every town, as I ordered you.
Men having a good record, husbands of one wife, whose children are of the faith, children of whom it may not be said that they are given to loose living or are uncontrolled.
Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
and may not pay attention to Jewish myths and the commands of men who reject the truth.
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
to be sensible and pure, to manage their households, to be kind, and to submit themselves to their husbands. Otherwise, the word of God may be discredited.
Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
teaching us, that denying the impiety and the worldly desires, soberly and righteously and piously we may live in the present age,
so that having been justified by His grace,we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life.
This saying is trustworthy. I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have put their faith in God may devote themselves to good actions. These things are good and helpful to other people.
Zenas the lawyer and Apollos bring diligently on their way, that nothing to them may be lacking,
and let them learn -- ours also -- to be leading in good works to the necessary uses, that they may not be unfruitful.
