1 LORD, listen and answer me, for I am afflicted and needy.

1 Incline Your ear, O Lord, and answer me,For I am distressed and needy [I long for Your help].

2 Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.

2 (C)Preserve my (a)soul, for I am a (D)godly man;O You my God, save Your servant who (E)trusts in You.

2 Protect my life, for I am faithful.(B)You are my God; save Your servant who trusts in You.(C)

2 Protect me, for I am faithful; My God, deliver your servant who trusts in you.

3 Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.

3 Have mercy on me Lord, for I call on you all day long.

4 Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.

4 Bring joy to Your servant’s life,because I turn to You, Lord.(E)

4 Your servant rejoices, because, Lord, I set my hope on you.

4 Make Your servant rejoice,For to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul [all that I am—in prayer].

5 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

5 For You, Lord, are (I)good, and (J)ready to forgive,And (K)abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon You.

5 For You, Lord, are kind and ready to forgive,(F)rich in faithful love to all who call on You.(G)

5 Indeed you, Lord, are kind and forgiving, overflowing with gracious love to everyone who calls on you.

5 For You, O Lord, are good, and ready to forgive [our sins, sending them away, completely letting them go forever and ever];And abundant in lovingkindness and overflowing in mercy to all those who call upon You.

6 Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.

9 All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.

10 For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.

10 For You are great and perform wonders;You alone are God.(L)

10 For you are great, and you are doing awesome things; you alone are God.

10 For You are great and do wondrous works!You alone are God.

11 Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.

11 (U)Teach me Your way, O Lord;I will walk in Your truth;(V)Unite my heart to fear Your name.

11 Teach me Your way, Yahweh,and I will live by Your truth.Give me an undivided mind to fear Your name.(M)

11 Teach me your ways, LORD, that I may walk in your truth; let me wholeheartedly revere your name.

11 Teach me Your way, O Lord,I will walk and live in Your truth;Direct my heart to fear Your name [with awe-inspired reverence and submissive wonder].(A)

12 I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.

12 I will (W)give thanks to You, O Lord my God, with all my heart,And will glorify Your name forever.

13 For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.

13 For Your faithful love for me is great,and You deliver my life from the depths of Sheol.(O)

13 For great is your gracious love to me; you've delivered me from the depths of Sheol.

13 For great is Your lovingkindness and graciousness toward me;And You have rescued my life from the depths of Sheol [from death].

14 O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them.

14 O God, arrogant men have (Y)risen up against me,And (e)a band of violent men have sought my (f)life,And they have not set You before them.

14 God, arrogant people have attacked me;a gang of ruthless men seeks my life.They have no regard for You.(P)

14 God, arrogant men rise up against me, while a company of ruthless individuals want to kill me. They do not have regard for you.

14 O God, arrogant and insolent men have risen up against me;A band of violent men have sought my life,And they have not set You before them.

15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

15 But You, O Lord, are a God (Z)merciful and gracious,Slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness and (g)truth.

15 But You, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God,slow to anger and rich in faithful love and truth.(Q)

15 But you, Lord, are a compassionate God, merciful and patient, with unending gracious love and faithfulness.

15 But You, O Lord, are a God [who protects and is] merciful and gracious,Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness and truth.

16 O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.
