､ הַגּוֹיִ֔ם
hag·gō·w·yim,
the nations ､
אֲשֶׁר֙
’ă·šer
of whom
יְהוָ֣ה
Yah·weh
אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ
’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā,
נֹתֵ֥ן
nō·ṯên
לְךָ֖
lə·ḵā
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
אַרְצָ֑ם
’ar·ṣām;
וִֽירִשְׁתָּ֕ם
wî·riš·tām
וְיָשַׁבְתָּ֥
wə·yā·šaḇ·tā
and dwell
､ בְעָרֵיהֶ֖ם
ḇə·‘ā·rê·hem
in their cities ､
– וּבְבָתֵּיהֶֽם׃
ū·ḇə·ḇāt·tê·hem.
and in their houses –

in the midst

of your land ､
אֲשֶׁר֙
’ă·šer
יְהוָ֣ה

אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ

נֹתֵ֥ן

לְךָ֖

. לְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ׃

to possess .

is giving you to inherit ､

אֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ

וְהָיָ֕ה

לָנ֥וּס

of the manslayer ､
אֲשֶׁר־

､ שָׁ֖מָּה
šām·māh
there ､
– וָחָ֑י
wā·ḥāy;
that he may live –
אֲשֶׁ֨ר
’ă·šer
יַכֶּ֤ה
yak·keh
אֶת־
’eṯ-

רֵעֵ֙הוּ֙
rê·‘ê·hū
בִּבְלִי־
biḇ·lî-
not
דַ֔עַת
ḏa·‘aṯ,
וְה֛וּא

and him

And as when [a [man]

to the woods
לַחְטֹ֣ב
laḥ·ṭōḇ
to cut
､ עֵצִים֒
‘ê·ṣîm
timber ､
וְנִדְּחָ֨ה
wə·nid·də·ḥāh
יָד֤וֹ
yā·ḏōw
בַגַּרְזֶן֙
ḇag·gar·zen
with the ax
לִכְרֹ֣ת
liḵ·rōṯ
､ הָעֵ֔ץ
hā·‘êṣ,
the tree ､
וְנָשַׁ֤ל
wə·nā·šal
and slips
הַבַּרְזֶל֙
hab·bar·zel
the head
מִן־
min-
､ הָעֵ֔ץ
hā·‘êṣ,
the handle ､
וּמָצָ֥א
ū·mā·ṣā
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
､ רֵעֵ֖הוּ
rê·‘ê·hū
– וָמֵ֑ת
wā·mêṯ;
so that he dies –

to

､ הֶעָרִים־

of cities ､
הָאֵ֖לֶּה

וְהִשִּׂיג֛וֹ

כִּֽי־

is long ､
הַדֶּ֖רֶךְ

the way
וְהִכָּ֣הוּ

and kill

him –

and though he

､ לַאֲבֹתֶ֑יךָ

to your fathers ､
וְנָ֤תַן
wə·nā·ṯan
and gives
לְךָ֙

אֶת־
’eṯ-

כָּל־
kāl-
הָאָ֔רֶץ
hā·’ā·reṣ,
the land
אֲשֶׁ֥ר
’ă·šer
דִּבֶּ֖ר
dib·ber
לָתֵ֥ת
lā·ṯêṯ
to give
– לַאֲבֹתֶֽיךָ׃
la·’ă·ḇō·ṯe·ḵā.
to your fathers –

לַעֲשֹׂתָ֗הּ

and do them
אֲשֶׁ֨ר
’ă·šer
אָנֹכִ֣י
’ā·nō·ḵî
I
מְצַוְּךָ֮
mə·ṣaw·wə·ḵā
､ הַיּוֹם֒
hay·yō·wm
today ､
לְאַהֲבָ֞ה
lə·’a·hă·ḇāh
to love
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
יְהוָ֧ה
Yah·weh
､ אֱלֹהֶ֛יךָ
’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā
your God ､
וְלָלֶ֥כֶת
wə·lā·le·ḵeṯ
and to walk
– בִּדְרָכָ֖יו
biḏ·rā·ḵāw
in His ways –
כָּל־

הַיָּמִ֑ים
hay·yā·mîm;
וְיָסַפְתָּ֨
wə·yā·sap̄·tā
לְךָ֥
lə·ḵā
עוֹד֙
‘ō·wḏ
שָׁלֹ֣שׁ
šā·lōš
עָרִ֔ים
‘ā·rîm,
עַ֖ל
‘al
הַשָּׁלֹ֥שׁ
haš·šā·lōš
. הָאֵֽלֶּה׃
hā·’êl·leh.

וְלֹ֤א

And lest
יִשָּׁפֵךְ֙
yiš·šā·p̄êḵ
be shed
דָּ֣ם
dām
נָקִ֔י
nā·qî,
בְּקֶ֣רֶב
bə·qe·reḇ
in the midst
､ אַרְצְךָ֔
’ar·ṣə·ḵā,
of your land ､
אֲשֶׁר֙
’ă·šer
יְהוָ֣ה
Yah·weh
אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ
’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā,
נֹתֵ֥ן
nō·ṯên
לְךָ֖
lə·ḵā
､ נַחֲלָ֑ה
na·ḥă·lāh;
[as] an inheritance ､
וְהָיָ֥ה
wə·hā·yāh
and [thus] be
עָלֶ֖יךָ
‘ā·le·ḵā
. דָּמִֽים׃
dā·mîm.

and lies in wait
לוֹ֙

וְקָ֣ם
wə·qām
and rises
עָלָ֔יו
‘ā·lāw,
וְהִכָּ֥הוּ
wə·hik·kā·hū
נֶ֖פֶשׁ
ne·p̄eš
､ וָמֵ֑ת
wā·mêṯ;
so that he dies ､
וְנָ֕ס
wə·nās
and he flees
אֶל־
’el-
to
אַחַ֖ת
’a·ḥaṯ
､ הֶעָרִ֥ים
he·‘ā·rîm
of cities ､
. הָאֵֽל׃
hā·’êl.

וְשָֽׁלְחוּ֙
wə·šā·lə·ḥū
זִקְנֵ֣י
ziq·nê
the elders
עִיר֔וֹ
‘î·rōw,
וְלָקְח֥וּ
wə·lā·qə·ḥū
and bring
אֹת֖וֹ
’ō·ṯōw
､ מִשָּׁ֑ם
miš·šām;
וְנָתְנ֣וּ
wə·nā·ṯə·nū
אֹת֗וֹ
’ō·ṯōw,
בְּיַ֛ד
bə·yaḏ
to the hand
גֹּאֵ֥ל
gō·’êl
､ הַדָּ֖ם
had·dām
of the blood ､
. וָמֵֽת׃
wā·mêṯ.
that he may die .

the judges

and [if] indeed ､

the witness [is]
שֶׁ֙קֶר֙

､ הָעֵ֔ד

a witness ､
שֶׁ֖קֶר

עָנָ֥ה

– בְאָחִֽיו׃

the evil
. מִקִּרְבֶּֽךָ׃

､ יִשְׁמְע֣וּ

､ וְיִרָ֑אוּ
wə·yi·rā·’ū;
and fear ､
וְלֹֽא־
wə·lō-
and not
יֹסִ֨פוּ
yō·si·p̄ū
לַעֲשׂ֜וֹת
la·‘ă·śō·wṯ
ע֗וֹד
‘ō·wḏ,
כַּדָּבָ֥ר
kad·dā·ḇār
הָרָ֛ע
hā·rā‘
הַזֶּ֖ה

. בְּקִרְבֶּֽךָ׃
