He said to them, "It is not every man who has the capacity to carry out this saying, but it is for those to whom the capacity has been given.

But when the disciples heard this, they were dumbfounded, and asked, "Who then can be saved!"

Take what belongs to you and go. I want to give this man hired last as much as I do you.

But when the tenants saw the son, they said among themselves, 'This is his heir, come on, let us kill him, and get all that is coming to him!'

"This, I tell you, is why the kingdom will be taken away from you, and given to a people who will pay a fair rent for it.

And when the crowds heard this, they were dumbfounded at His teaching.

I solemnly say to you, all this will come upon this age!

While He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came up to Him by themselves, and said, "Tell us when this is to take place, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age."

But be sure of this, that if the master of the house had known in exactly what part of the night the thief would come, he would have been on guard and would not have let his house be broken into.

For in putting this perfume on my body she has done it to prepare me for my burial.

How then could the Scriptures be fulfilled, for they say this is the way it must be?"

and said, "This man said, 'I can tear down the temple of God, and build it again in three days.'"

Then he went out into the gateway, and another waiting girl saw him, and said to those there, "This fellow was with Jesus the Nazarene."

So when they met for this purpose, Pilate asked them, "Which one do you want me to set free, Barabbas, or Jesus, the so-called Christ?"

Now while he was on the bench, his wife sent him this word, "Do not have anything to do with that righteous man, for I have this morning suffered excruciating pain in a dream caused by Him."

So Pilate, since he saw that he was making no headway with them, but that a riot was about to break out instead, took some water and washed his hands before the crowd, and said, "I am not responsible for this man's death; you must see to it yourselves."

And the army captain and his men, who were keeping guard over Jesus, who felt the earthquake and saw all that was taking place, were terribly frightened, and said, "Surely this was God's Son."

Then run and tell His disciples, 'He has risen from the dead, and is going back to Galilee ahead of you; you will see Him there.' This is my message to you."

So they took the money and did as they were told. And this story has been told among the Jews down to the present time.

They were all so dumbfounded that they kept discussing it among themselves, and asking, "What does this mean? It is a new teaching. He gives orders with authority even to foul spirits, and they obey Him."

But Jesus at once drove him out of their presence, and gave him this stringent charge:
